  1. Hi- Since having beem diagnosed via biopsy and bloodwork I have been strictly abiding to a gluten-free diet. Here in lies the problem...I have NEVER had problems with acne (I am 41 years old) and since becoming gluten-free I have developed an unbearable case of acne that extends down my neck, chest and shoulders. Anyone know whats going on here??? Thanks in advance for your response!
  2. Thanks for your reply...the pain that I experience is just below my sterum and centered just below my ribs. Is this similar?
  3. I am a newly (3 months) diagnosed celiac and have been vigilant at eliminating gluten from my diet. Since I have been gluten-free, I have had four episodes of sharp, stabbing pain in my upper abdomen that disappears after several hours. I contacted my (disinterested) GI doctor who insisted that it was unrelated to accidental gluten exposure and subsequently ordered an ultrasound of my gall bladder...whiich was negative. Has anyone experience this type of pain as a result of gluten exposure?? Thansk!!
  4. Hi- I was recently diagnosed with Celiac by both TTG IGA levels and a positive biopsy. I have been gluten-free for 2 months and have gained a much needed 15 lbs since eliminating gluten. I think that I have accidently ingested gluten a couple of times. The first incident resulted in a feeling like someone stabbed my in the upper abdomen, a sharp piercing pain. I contacted my disinterested GI and asked him if this could be a reaction to gluten. He replied "No" and ordered a HILA Scan of my Gall bladder and an ultrasound of my abdomen; both were negative. He wanted to do a CT scan but working in the field of oncology I understand the importance of minimizing these scan and since I had one recently that diagnosed an intutusception in my small bowel, I declined. I suspect that I have been exposed again and have the same sharp pains in my upper abdomen? Has anyone experienced similar pain? Thanks!
  5. Thanks so much for the info! I will check it out now
  6. Thanks for the recommendation but sadly my job requires extensive travel and I only actually eat maybe <6 meals a week at home. Any recommendations for gluten-free dining guides?
  7. Thanks! Now perhaps another question... Is it worth the $25 a bottle in the event of any accidental ingestion until I better master all the foods that are acceptable for celiacs?
  8. Hi! As a newly diagnosed Celiac, I visited my local Natural Food and the owner (a self-diagnosed celiac) suggested a product called Gluten Defense to help break down any accidently consumed gluten in my diet as I try to navigate my way to a strictly gluten-free diet. Does anyone have any thoughts or information on this product? Many thanks!
