  1. I had blurred vision (like looking through a glass smeared with baby oil), moodiness, headaches, and odd humming noises all because of drinking Diet Coke. It was the Nutra Sweet. It can really cause people some problems. Suzy
  2. She did have these problems prior to going gluten free. She had quite a few tests run at that time including iron, B-12, and such, even thyroid. The doctors assured me they were all well within the normal ranges. They didn't think she had any malabsorption problems even with the intestinal damage. Thanks for your thoughts.
  3. My DD is 12 years old and was diagnosed in October with celiac disease. She had two positive blood tests and a biopsy with
  4. My DD is 12 and I just received her results from the Dr today. I am a bit confused over one of the numbers. If someone could clear it up a bit it would be nice. IgA Quantitative: 123 (77-360 is the range) Not sure what that means? Her Endomysial Antibody test came up positive though, can read that one loud and clear! I have not talked to a Dr yet, I will next month. They are sending her to a GI in three weeks, but that seems like a life time since she is feeling lousy. Was thinking of calling them and asking if I could take her off the gluten BEFORE the appointment even though they want me to wait. Do they like to do more testing? Any thoughts would be helpful. This is all new to me. Thanks Suzy
  5. There was a Dr that I was told, by the lady making the appointment, had a problem relating to younger children. It made me wonder why he was working at Children's Mercy? Anyway, she will be seeing Dr. Cocjin who she said is great, since I don't know I am taking their word for it. I just have a feeling they will take one look at her and say, There is nothing wrong with this child! She LOOKS very healthy, except for the dark circles under her eyes and strange rash on her head. She FEELS awful most of the time though. I can always fall back on her primary Dr though, I hope.
  6. I will be taking my daughter to KC next month as well, I can't say that I have high hopes though. Her Pediatric Dr has dx her with having celiac but wants her to see Pediatric GI. I really don't have a lot of faith in specialists but I trust our PCP so we will go. Hope you find out more.
