  1. Hi all. I haven't been here in a while. I called Kroger a few months ago about the "natural flavors' in their ground beef and was told that it is rosemary oil. We also eat a lot of their products.
  2. Hi melgag21. I searched Charcot-Leyden crystals and found this: http://www.udel.edu/medtech/dlehman/medt372/Ch-lyd.html Charcot-Leyden crystals are formed from the breakdown of eosinophils and may be seen in the stool or sputum of patients with parasitic diseases. The crystals are slender and pointed and stain purplish-red in the trichrome stain, as shown in this image. These crystals can appear in a variety of sizes and only indicate an immune response, but the cause may or may not be a parasitic infection.
  3. Goddd I Need Some Help!

Hi Brett31m. No, you are not alone. This is a good place to come and vent. It is a good idea to take snacks with you when you go out. As for foods, Tink'yada pasta is very good, homemade mashed potatoes should not have any gluten in them, I boil potatoes, drain, add milk, butter, salt and pepper and use my hand mixer to 'mash' them. You can also add garlic powder and cheese. Also Idahoan makes potato flakes that say gluten-free on the label and they also have some flavors that are gluten-free (check the back of the label). You can search on here for gluten-free candy lists.
  4. Burning Rash Around Panties

Hi CruiseWriter. Could it possibly be the latex in your panties?
  5. Taco Seasoning

I use chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, ground oregano, paprika, cilantro flakes, ground(cayenne)red pepper (just little of this), salt and pepper and a little cornstarch for thickining. I don't measure, just add small amounts and taste. I use the same seasonings for chili. This is Alton Brown's taco seasoning: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/all-american-beef-taco-recipe/index.html Taco Potion #19: 2 tablespoons chili powder 1 tablespoon ground cumin 2 teaspoons cornstarch 2 teaspoons kosher salt 1 1/2 teaspoons hot smoked paprika 1 teaspoon ground coriander 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper Put all of the ingredients in a small jar and shake to combine. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 month. Yield: 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons
  6. Baked Doughnuts Recipe?

    I posted this last year:
  7. Hi zoogirl. We like Udi's bread and baked goods, Tinkyada pasta and Van's waffles (they also make regular waffles so make sure to read the package). I have had good luck with gluten-free Bisquick for pancakes, garlic cheese biscuits and peach cobbler.
  8. Fruity Pebbles

What dairy or non-dairy are you putting on the pebbles?
  9. Hi Debbie. With positive blood tests, even if the endo. biopsy is negative, he needs to be gluten-free. As for the reactions he is having, it is hard to say if it is an allergy or celiac, it may be both. Does he have milk with the cereal? Have you tried the cereal separately to see if it causes the same reaction? (I know it is hard to eat that cereal dry, so maybe just a little ) It is advised to also take dairy out for a short time in the begining. It is hard but doable. The Dr. said she did not see any visible damage, this is good news, this could mean there isn't too much damage yet, but also she can't tell until it is looked at under a microscope. So, since the testing is complete for celiac, you can start him on gluten-free now. There is no need to wait for the endo results.
  10. Hi anna34. Also D, E, A & K Celiac tests Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA and IgG Total IgA level Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Antibodies, IgA & IgG
  11. Hi shayre. Withdrawal Consumption of gluten triggers production of exorphins, which are opiate chemicals with similar results as endorphins---promoting feelings of calm. -in some people, gluten and/or casein can mimic opiates, such as morphine and heroin. When these foods are removed, intense cravings and even drug withdrawal-like symptoms can result. Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/322978-symptoms-of-gluten-free-detox/#ixzz1IDp613da
  12. Atlanta, Ga

I have not been to all these places but heard they are good. http://www.yeahburger.com/ http://www.sallysbakery.com/ The Outback in Roswell at 655 Crossville Rd., Roswell GA 30075 (770) 998-5630 is the ONLY location in the US offering exciting new gluten free menu options. 13. Hi MURILLO. Pathology The classic pathology changes of coeliac disease in the small bowel are categorised by the "Marsh classification":[60] Marsh stage 0: normal mucosa Marsh stage 1: increased number of intra-epithelial lymphocytes, usually exceeding 20 per 100 enterocytes Marsh stage 2: proliferation of the crypts of Lieberkuhn Marsh stage 3: partial or complete villous atrophy Marsh stage 4: hypoplasia of the small bowel architecture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease You could have both. Hope this helps.
  14. Hi costellosfriend. Yes, you do need to be eating the equivalent of three to four slices of bread a day for three months. Are you still eating the gluten foods? I might suggest that you get tested anyway and see what the results are. If they are negative you could try to gluten up again and then get re-tested. Could you take some info the the Dr. to show him that they are related? http://www.celiac.com/categories/Celiac-Disease-Research%3A-Associated-Diseases-and-Disorders/Schizophrenia-%7B47%7D-Mental-Problems-and-Celiac-Disease/ http://www.celiac.com/articles/1106/1/Celiac-Disease-Symptoms/Page1.html Signs and Symptoms of Malabsorption, Malnutrition, vitamin and/or mineral Deficiencies Associated with Celiac Disease: At the bottom of this list is Obesity. Conditions and Disorders Associated with Celiac Disease: Schizophrenia / Mental Problems and Celiac Disease I truly hope you find the answers you need.
  15. Confusion About Levels Of Sensitivity...

On the suave website I typed wheat in the search bar and only two hair gel products came up. I am currently using the captivating curls and I like it. I have been using suave shampoos and conditioners for many years. The reason I am using this one now is because they stopped making the brilliant brunette.
