  1. Hi Jason! I feel your pain and insecurity TOTALLY! I am a woman in the dating scene requiring a gluten free menu and Ive noticed that if you just try to order "with this, without that" and not mention anything THATS when people start to wonder. Is she high maintenance?? So I have found it better to be open and say "that I have food allergies and just try to keep to my diet." Almost everyone has something that they cant eat and if they cant accept that then they are not worth dating anyway. Its life. Keep it simple until they get to know you but all dates end up eating food. Outback has gluten free menu, been good with sushi, salads. You can do it and not be completely freaked about it. Have a great date-and so what youre a wine drinker not a beer drinker! LOL Wendy:)
  2. I love Sushi almost all things, You can do alot of fun rolls without the sauces they recommend as they have soy sauce in them. Also they can substitute crab from the rolls. NO eel! No tempura fried anything. Edamame is a nice side snack too.
  3. Relieving Stomach Pain

Thank God Im not alone! Im newer to this whole gluten thing and notice if I eat something I shouldnt it doesnt hit me right away. I get the rash 2-4 days after, feel like theres a cinder block in my belly for a few days, then maybe at about a week or so later the real pain starts! The abdominal shooting pain is almost unbearable. You think you have to go to the bathroom but not much happens just waves of shooting pain and sweats. Is this similar to anyone else?? Does it take that long to get it out of your system? Ive really had a hard time adjusting to all this. Its depressing to not be able to have all my favorite foods and eating out is a nightmare, yet a big part of my social life. It seems no matter how vigilant you are theres ALWAYS SOMETHING that knocks you off track. UGH.
  4. The Dh Rash

Yes, yes, and YES!!! This rash makes you absolutely nuts!! I have been dx with DH almost a year now, derm asked me right away if I had a gluten allergy and I was like WHAT?? He did a bx of one of the boo boos and sure enough!! The bx site took prob 6 mos to heal. I never had a rash in my life before this and starting at 37?? It starts out on my lower legs/shin, will come up on my shoulder blade, then go to my fingers. Its bizarre. So I stopped gluten and I didnt want to add one more pill to my regimen(dapsone), and realized so many things with my body really werent normal like I thought. It takes MONTHS for these little sores to go away, it morphs when it feels like it. And recently I must have eaten something and after about 3 days-its bad again. Bigger this time. So I wonder if its progressive every time youre exposed. This has been some experience. Still havent learned what to look for in shampoo/shower/skin products yet. I use Aquaphor for a good coat of moisture and it does soothe it. Sometimes need ice packs. This whole thing gets to me sometimes-I like a freak sometimes cause you have to be so picky and people just dont get it. I feel like they think its just for attention. Im hoping Ill be able to wear a dress (without boots) by Friday, somehow I doubt it! Im glad Im not alone, thanks for posting that!!
