  1. Can you have DH in your nose? It seems that maybe I do. Anyone else?
  2. Hi Gillian~ I was wondering how you know that you have swollen kidneys? Was it diagnosed or is it just a feeling? I'm wondering because I have this lower back pain in the kidney area that is excrutiating. It feels like alot of pressure and also feels like my kidneys are being squeezed. I usually have to lie flat on my back on a hard floor to alleviate some of the pain.As far as increased urination, I can't tell because I've always had bladder problems. Is this the feeling that you have, too? Hope you feel better and find the answers you're looking for.
  3. Does anyone know of a good Dr. with Celiac knowledge in this area? Thanks!
  4. What kind of dr. should I look for to be tested for celiac?
  5. Thanks for the suggestions! You're right. I haven't begun a gluten-free diet yet. I'm waiting until I can get some bloodwork done in March(my dh doesn't have insurance for us until then. I've unfortunately been putting alot of things on hold because of that. We just can't afford the doctor visits without the insurance.) Kaiti~ Are there any specific cancers there are increased chances of or is it all or any? My Mom and Grandma are breast cancer survivors, so that obviously puts me at a high risk. Do you have any links to articles about this? Thanks!
  6. I'm wondering what foods would be safe and soothing to eat after I have taken in too much gluten and suffered the effects(diarrhea, cramping, nausea, etc.) ? Thanks!
  7. I have the pain you're speaking of. It usually happens when I eat Oreos or cheap cookies.
  8. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I was in the ER for a severe allergic reaction to "something". I had bad, bad hives, terrible itching, and my heart rate was almost 170 bpm. It was never figured out what the problem was but I think it was my laundry detergent~ GAIN brand. Is there a tie between Celiac and detergent that you know of? Maybe some ingredient in it? Has anyone else experience this?
  9. Thank you all for your responses. The endoscopy seems a little scary. Is it? My Dad and sister had this done and it made me anxious just hearing them talk about it. I read about it in a book last night and I thought I was going to faint. I wish I could start a gluten free diet now. We won't have any health insurance for about 2 mo. yet so I won't be getting the tests done right now because we can't afford it. I was wondering if I just cut down my gluten intake, would the tests still possibly show up positive?
  10. I might have celiac disease? I'm a very nervous person. I have been most of my life. I'm wondering if there is an anxiety/ celiac disease connection. My symptoms include: anxiety nervousness afraid of public places weight loss(35 lbs. since July '04) just from nervousness and diarrhea middle and lower back pain(so painful that I have to lie on hard floor just to get some relief) stomach cramps and diarrhea pimply, fluid filled bumpy rash on hands and bottoms of feet discolored and thick toenails low energy level I feel plagued just trying to do simple tasks such as standing to do dishes( so it's nearly impossible to get a job outside the home) I was diagnosed with IBS over 3 yrs. ago and had a colonoscopy but it was still decided that I had IBS. I take an anti- anxiety drug that seems to help some with the nervousness but I still get the other symptoms. Could I have celiac disease???
