  1. Hello, I recently realized that I had several major exposures to gluten within a month. First, I accidentally ate two wheat tortillas when i was home on break, I had some diarrhea but that was all, I don't typically have severe reactions. Next, I bought two boxes of what I thought was gluten free spaghetti--I was wrong. I didn't realize until I had almost finished both boxes. Again, I was having indigestion and stomach issues and feeling generally unwell, but nothing was serious enough that I started looking until I got really sick last Monday--I was throwing up for the next 24 hours or so. I have three questions: since my first exposure a month ago I've had a yeast infection that refuses to go away--is this likely connected? Second, how long should I anticipate symptoms remaining for? Usually when I only have a few crumbs I go to the bathroom and feel fine. I understand that some people have reactions for about a week. For this extended exposure, will my symptoms be gone in a week or so, or will it take longer to heal? Finally, should I be concerned with insufficient nutrient levels--iron, vitamin d all that stuff? Thanks!
  2. Hello, I'm new to the board so please bear with me. About two and a half years ago I was diagnosed with an assumed celiac's. I refused to take the test because I had already gotten off gluten, but I have fibromyalgia, an uncle with celiac's disease, and gluten sensitivity. Anyways, fast forward to about five weeks ago. I accidentally had two whole wheat tortillas over two days. I'm pretty sensitive--extremely small amounts will set me off, though my reactions are typically mild. Anyways--for me this was a huge amount of wheat. At the time I didn't have any extreme reaction--just diarrhea. However, approximately a week later I got a yeast infection which I treated at first homeopathically and then with over the counter medicines. Each time it would start to get better and then return. Plus I've noticed mucous in my stool. So, its clearly in my intestinal tract. Anyways I finally am breaking down and are am calling on monday for a doctor's appointment. I think the yeast infection is a reaction to the exposure to the wheat--but I'm not sure. Has anybody had similar symptoms. Please let me know...I really appreciate you taking the time. Thank you!
