  1. Red Meat Or Hamburger

I changed over to turkey burger instead. The grease from regular burger is hard on my stomach. Symptoms just like what that person above posted. When they make premade burger patties, they put seasonings which often have wheat and maltodexrin in them. Not good. They also use the fattiest meat because it grills up better as well. Try making your own home made burger from 93% lean and try the turkey burger as well. I bet that will help you greatly. Watch out for seasonings too. They have hidden ingredients.
  2. Overweight With Celiac

I have lost 15 lbs in the first two months of my gluten and dairy free diet. Once you remove those two huge portions of your diet, you start to look at whole foods like meats, veggies and fruits. Back to the basics I guess. I track everything online so I know where I am at for calories. It is such a drastic change, I feel like I have forgotten how to eat. If you want to lose weight, get an online diet tracker like www.sparkpeople.com or www.anytimehealth.com and see what you are taking in and burning up. It puts you in control with quantitative numbers to visualize. I have another 15-20 to go, want to join me? :-)
  3. Get a stylish insulated bag and carry food with you. It's been a life saver for me. Nuts and avocados are helpful. Almonds are high in calories, easy to take with you, and a quick snack. Stick to the whole foods, and schedule your life around meals. You cannot do the fast foods anymore. You have no other options I am afraid than to bring your bag with you, and eat lots. Eat 5-6 times a day! Fruits, juices, nuts, dark meats, dark green veggies are your best bet.
  4. Hey y'all, I am new to this gluten free (and also dairy free) diet. I have really been struggling to get the calories I need to survive. I am trying to lose weight and have lost 15 lbs in about 2 months. I passed out last week at the gym from not enough calories I think. I freaked and went the other way now, throwing calories at it. I have started to add junk food in that is still within my diet restrictions. Brownies, cookies, soy ice cream, etc. Since I started adding in the junk food, I have gained a pound. I feel like I am on a yo yo diet and it scares me. Does anyone else have these issues? I think it's such a drastic change that I am trying to find my happy place. I record everything on www.sparkpeople.com but when I am in the goals they recommend, I either pass out or gain weight. It's just a yo yo mess. :-(
  5. Weight Loss

I have lost 15 lbs in 2 months. I understand about you losing weight with the diet. I have been using www.sparkpeople.com. It's free and they have a free app for your phone too. Add your current weight, your goal weight, and your activity level. It will give you goals to shoot for you achieve your desired weight. Im going the other way on the scale but the idea is the same. Monitor what's going in, monitor what's going out.
  6. I havent had any issues with a sugar free soy decaf latte. They will show you the bottles of syrup if you ask.
  7. Whey Protein

I love this stuff. I cannot have wheat or dairy but this stuff is fine. Check out the ingredients. It includes Lactase for easy digestion. http://underground.nutrex.com/products/muscle-infusion.asp I love the cookie madness flavor.
