  1. Hi everyone, My doctor just gave me a prescription for Loloestrin birth control pills, and I called the company, which told me that they can't verify that it's gluten-free, but that as far as they know, there are no gluten ingredients. Is anyone else taking this particular form of birth control? If so, have you had any bad reactions to it from possible cross contamination, etc.? I just tried Ocella and it was a horrible experience, so I am wary of trying new pills without their being verified gluten-free. Thanks so much! Claire
  2. Hi everyone, I posted a month or so ago about whether anyone had had any experience with Ocella birth control pills, and finally started taking it about two weeks ago. Most people who responded said that they hadn't had a celiac reaction to it, but I have felt totally awful while on this medication so far. I had the worst migraine of my life this weekend that has continued to last for about 3 days, I've had stomach problems (mostly constipation but also diarrhea), and have been really tired. Has anyone else on Ocella experienced this? I know it could just be a function of the pill itself, but I'm worried that there's some trace amount of gluten in there that I'm reacting to. Any and all advice more than welcome!! Claire
  3. Thank you so much for that - that makes me feel a lot better. I'll give it a try, since you've had so much luck with it!!
  4. Hi there, thanks so much for your response! So you've taken it with no reaction at all? Are you someone who reacts to slight amounts of gluten in general? I'm pretty sensitive to it and am just really worried that there's even a trace amount there :-/
  5. Hi everyone, I've been gluten-free for about three years now and have had an IUD the entire time. Now I have to switch to the pill, and my doctor's sent in a prescription for Ocella, which is the generic form of Yasmin. I called the company and they said that to the best of their knowledge, it is gluten-free, but that it is manufactured elsewhere with outside ingredients, so they cannot be 100% sure. Has anyone here taken it, and if so, have you had a reaction to it? Or does anyone else have any better information about it? Thank you!!
