  1. I have a very busy time coming up and I'd like to make some gluten-free recipes in large quantities, that are good to freeze, then reheat later. Anybody have any good ideas?
  2. Just wondering if anybody is in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area, and if so, if you know of any good naturopaths and/or gastroenterologists and/or nutritionists familiar with gluten intolerance?
  3. I've been trying to conceive our second child for the last 4 months. In the last few months, the stomach symptoms I've had for years have suddenly gotten a lot worse. I had a blood test for celiac disease, which came out negative, but my doctor I believe incorrectly told me I didn't have to eat gluten before the test, and I had been off gluten for 2+ weeks before the test, so I don't have a lot of confidence in the results. My question is, should I just continue to eat gluten-free regardless, since it seems to help, and continue to try to conceive, or should I hold off on trying until after I've gone back on gluten for long enough to get accurate test results? I presume I couldn't get an endoscopy if I was pregnant, because they'd have to sedate me... is that right? My daughter is already two years old and I really don't want our children too far apart. Also, I'm 35, and I feel like my chances of conceiving again drop with every passing month.
  4. I recently had a blood test for celiac disease that came out negative. However, I had already been following a gluten-free diet for two weeks beforehand, and my doctor told me that was OK. I've recently read that you need to be on a full-on gluten-containing diet for the test to be reliable. Should I ask for a retest? In some ways I'd like to find out for sure what is wrong with me so I can stop trying to hunt for possible causes. On the other hand, I don't want to make myself sick again. Also, the test is pretty expensive and I have to pay for it. FYI, going gluten-free has helped a lot, but I'm still experiencing some symptoms. However, I only started trying to eliminate dairy in the last 24 hours. I feel like celiac disease "fits" my symptoms better than anything else I've ever heard of.
