  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Paula, I know what you are going through. I have 3 kids and all but one have celiac and my husband and I do too. My kids found out when they were in high school and now the youngest is 21. I have been told by my doctor not to worry about the kids right now. You CAN"T make them stick to this diet and when they get really sick then they will see that they have to follow it. I have tried to make my kids stick to it and it WILL drive you crazy. He is at that wonderful age too. SO stop driving yourself crazy and just let him make himself sick. It is so hard. As long as you are on him about the diet he WILL go to friends houses and buy stuff himself. You won't win. Who else is celiac in your house? Good luck. Karen
  3. Support Groups Needed!

Kim, Thanks for the information. I am going to try to make it. I really want to hear her speak. Let me know about the Cobb meeting. Karen
  4. Elyse, I have 3 kids also and they all have celiac. My husband was first diagnosed with it then as I read on it I saw that the kids were having symptoms. They are all colleg kids and having a hard time dealing with the diet. I found out I have it too. SO I think the whole world has it and just hasn't been dianosed. I say you need to cut out all gluten Karne
  5. Diabeties And Celiac

I have celiac disease and I am a diabetic. I am tired of trying figure out what to eat and what to feed everyone. Does anyone else out there have diabeties? If so, how do you deal with it and what do you do?
  6. Hello everyone, I am just wondering if anyone else has diabeties along with Celiac and how are you coping with this. I am very fustrated and tring to figure all this out. Sometimes I just want to give up on all diets. I am also very over weight so I was also trying to do Weight Watchers before I found out I had celiac disease. Let me know if you are a diabetic. Maybe we could help each other. I live in Atlanta.
  7. Support Groups Needed!

Kim and Stacie, I didn't get to go on Sat. I wasn't sure where it was being held and I don't know that part of town and I didn't want to get lost. So, I may come to the Cobb one in April. Please send the information to me Kim. Did you go on Sat? IF so, how was it? I have never been to a group. Talk to you all later. Karen
  8. Support Groups Needed!

Hey Stacie, Thanks and I will email her. Not sure if I will make that one yet. I will let you know if I go and tell you all about it. My husband has a swim team meeting at the same time and so I don't think he can make it. Karen
  9. Support Groups Needed!

Stacie, I am confused about the meetings. The reminder you just sent me was it for the one that is suppose to be at Gwinnett Medical Center or is this a different one but on the smae day? I website said they were held at the Medical Center. Let me know. I will probably go so I will see you at the May meeting. Thanks. Karen
  10. Support Groups Needed!

Stacie and Ann, The support meeting at Gwinnett Medical Center is this Sat. March 13th in the Educational department. As far as I can tell the meeting starts at 10:00. It said if there is a pot luck it will start at 11:00. But I don't see anywhere that is says pot luck. So I am going at 10:00. I hope you tow can make it. I know it is a long way but I will try to give you directions. I tried to email the person for Cobb and they never emailed me back. Take 75 South to 85 north. Then look for 316 toward lawrenceville and take it to the exit that says Hwy 120. (There will probably be those blue hospital signs too). When you get off the ramp take a left and you will see the entrance for the hospital (Gwinnett Medical Center) on your right. As soon as you go in the front door there will be a foyer and I think the education part of the building is to the right. Not to sure but I am sure there will be someone there to tell us. They do charge you for parking. Hope to see you guys there. Karen
  11. Dr/diatician In Atlanta Area

Thanks for the name. I will give her all call. My GI dr isn't any help. Karen
  12. Dermatitis Herpetiformis

My daughter is 18 and she was told she had vaginal herpes. She had blood tests and they came back that is wasn't herpes. It may have been the cold sore type. I wonder is this was DH. She was diagnosed with Celiac disease 2 years ago. she ahd the biopsy and it was really positive. Man these dr. need to get with the program. She was really up set and we couldn't umderstand how she could have got this. Do you think it could be DH. DOWN THERE. She hasn't had anymore problems. She did take the herpes med and it cleared up. It is so weird. IT was really awful for her too. this is really interesting. Can you have DH as well as the intestinal part too?
  13. Support Groups Needed!

Hey, Kim and Stacie, I knew about the Cobb group, but I have not heard back from the dr. office that was getting me the information as to where is was. So, yes ,please post it. I live in Gw. but I will come there if needed. Also, I thought there was a meeting in Gw. every other month and the first one was in Jan so March would be the next one. I was planning on going to that one. I am in desperate need of support with all my celicas. I haven't been on becasue I have been sick AGAIN ! so now I am feeling better and hope to see you all soon. ALso, Stacie I will give you direct directioins to ' gw. if you still need them. I was waiting until the date was closer. But since you are closer to Cobb, I would go there. Karen
  14. VAGUy, I buy a pizza crust at the Peachtree Natural Foods here in Georgia. IT comes in a big box with 2 crusts in the box. I then take it to Little Ceasars and they cook it in their pizza oven for me. I ask them to please wash the pan first for contamination reasons. They are very good with this and the pizza is WONDERFUL. My husband loves it. THey put what topping I ask for. They only charge me for the topping. Good luck. Also, I emailed you because I got a message that you sent me one on the board but I can't locate it. What forum is it in. THanks Karen
