  1. Texas Roadhouse Or Logan's Roadhouse?

I printed off a copy of the Texas Roadhouse gluten free menu from their website and use it when we eat there......our waitress understood what I was talking about and made copious notes for the kitchen staff. I am very happy with them. I haven't tried Logan's lately because I have never liked their food.
  2. I just bought a box of Enviro Kidz Amazon frosted flakes at Meijer for $2.99. They are good as well! Sharon
  3. Traveling To Rochester Hills, Mi

Dear Nicole, There is also a Whole Foods and Good Food Company on Maple Road in Troy. In Clawson on 14 Mile Road, there is Bel Cibo, a small restaurant/store. Their pizza is good (you can sit down and eat it there if you wish) and they have various specials. Bonefish Grill, Carrabba's, Outback Steakhouse and P.F. Chang's all have a gluten free menu. Noodles and Company can make you rice noodles (they will use a clean saute pan) with stir fry veggies, gluten-free sauce, and will add a chicken breast if you like. Also, Celiac Specialties has a bakery in Chesterfield Township. Hopes this helps. Sharon Laura, Thanks for the tip on Canterbury Village. I was not aware of it. I have eaten there in the past (before I was diagnosied) and the food was good. Sharon
  4. Corned Beef And Cabbage

Sounds like I will be able to enjoy corned beef and cabbage! Thanks to all of you for your input. Sharon
  5. Corned Beef And Cabbage

Yes, I will be asking the chef/owner of the restaurant. However, I don't always trust that they really know for sure. I think I will go to the market and read the label on the corned beef.
  6. Does anyone know if corned beef and cabbage is gluten free? My favorite family restaurant serves it every Wednesday and I sure would love to order some. Problem is, I don't know what is in the brine that corned beef is made with. Sharon
  7. Any Others In Michigan?

I live in Madison Heights....GO TIGERS!
  8. Glutino Pretzles

I guess I must be an oddball! I tried the Glutino pretzels last year and thought they were disgusting! I threw them out. Looks like I am the only person who doesn't love them!!! Sharon
  9. Gluten Free Nuts

Thanks to all of you for your input. Sounds like I can enjoy peanuts and cashews now! Sharon
  10. I would like to hear about your experience with nuts. The label on Kirkland's cashews states that the product is gluten-free but is processed in a facility that also processes products with wheat. I haven't checked out any other brands yet. Does anyone have any information on other brands of peanuts and cashews? I have been craving them lately. Thanks Sharon
  11. Bearer Of Bad News

I sure hope our local Outback isn't going to scrap their gluten-free menu. I had lunch there today and used the gluten-free menu and the manager came out to be sure everything was to my satisfaction. They are very customer focused. Sharon
  12. Another Great Experience At Chilis

TinkerBell, I enjoy reading all of the comments about encounters with restaurants. Keep them coming! I had a bad experience with Red Robin today and had to leave to go to another restaurant. I also had a good experience with Chili's where the manager gave me a printout of glue free items. Thanks again. Shaaron
  13. Red Robin Questions

Danielle, I wish all the Red Robin restaurants were like the ones where you live. My hubby and I went to Red Robin for lunch today in Madison Heights, Michigan. When I requested a gluten free menu, the waitress couldn't even pronounce it and I asked for the manager. He, like the waitress, didn't have a clue. He said no they did not have a gluten free menu. He said only one of their buns was a wheat bun and the rest of them were just "regular bread". He obviously didn't know that bread is made out of wheat! After I explained that wheat is in all regular bread, he then suggested that they have a lettuce wrap I could order. I was too scared to stay after that encounter with ignorance. We left and went to Outback Steakhouse, where I was given a gluten-free menu and during the meal the manager came to our table to be sure everything was to our satisfaction. Oh well, maybe some day our local Red Robin will have staff who have a little training about dietary requirements. Sharon
