  1. Nasty Oats

I also eat them and they are nasty. I tried adding some raisins to them as they rest after cooking and that helped a litlle. Overall, yuck!
  2. Just to clarify Clay Aiken was NOT dropped from his contract. He is currently starring on Broadway in Spamalot and working on a new album due out this summer sometime.
  3. My Celiac son had his first tubes at 8 months and a new set almost every year. They finally put in permanent ones when he was 11 and one of those has come out already and we are just keeping a check. Very interesting!
  4. Watch for any animal food he touches. My son is 13 and he always fed his fish at night and then sucked his thumb, until he and a friend read the label and found it had wheat in it. Just be aware of anything he touches especially if he tends to put his fingers in his mouth. Good luck!
  5. Yes, my son who has celiac is a redhead. I am also and my daughter but we don't have celiac. Good idea to bring up!
  6. We are heading for braces and I'm concerned about the possibility for gluten in the stuff they make impressions with and also the glue they use to hold the braces to the teeth. Also wondering if the rubber bands they use would contain gluten. Anyone experience this yet?
  7. I want to make this Thanksgiving completely gluten-free. I doubt Butterball is gluten-free. Does anyone know of whole turkey's that are gluten-free for me to roast this year?
  8. Candy Corn

    Bump for answer (hopefully).
  9. I need to plan ahead and wondered which brand of candy corn and little pumpkins are gluten-free. Anybody know? Thanks, Christi
  10. Public Restroom Handsoap

I called and Wet Ones are Gluten Free.
  11. When I called Smucker's this summer they told me their products don't contain wheat, BUT that they are doing testing for barley, rye , and oats and until the testing is done near the end of '06 they are not safe for us!!
  12. Yes, sometimes the bladder doesn't empty all the way. Sounds like you really need to see a urologist and have them look in the bladder. Remember, I can get control over my bladder but I am also on medicine for it. If you aren't on medication for it, it probably wont' get better if it is truly IC. Yes, your symptoms sound real similar to mine and I think any urologist would recognize your symptoms and take action. Your bladder is probably having spasms with the pain and isn't able to relax and function properly due to the pain. That's why it isn't emptying right, I think. I never had blood that I saw though. Please go and make an appointment and let me know what happens. I hope it gets better. Oh, they say taking a spoonful of baking soda and then drinking water after that might help ease the burning. Let me know how it goes, I care!
  13. Hi Danielle, I have IC and was diagnosed 15 years ago. TO diagnose IC the urologist must look into the bladder and see the tell tale signs in the bladder wall for a diagnosis. AT least that is how they diagnosed me. I tried several different treatments and finally am only taking one pill a night (hydroxyzine) and that helps pretty much. Foods are a real big part of what irritates the IC bladder. Caffein is a big one like chocolate and coffee. I don't drink coffee but I love chocolate and it hurts if I eat too much at once or over several days. To help myself when the pain is bad, I drink lots of water at once and just flush the system out. A hot relaxing bath helps too. I understand your pain and encourage you to get a check for IC and begin treatment. It helps!!!
  14. Ice Cream Time

We want some ice cream and wonder if they are Gluten-free at Graeter's Ice Cream. Anyone know? Thanks!
  15. Making Granola Bars

The granola I have is Energ- E brand I believe. Threw the box away yesterday after making some. Thanks for the recipes. I didn't use peanut butter, but that would be better than what I did. Great ideas, thanks!
