  1. I too enjoyed jogging and being moderately active prior to diagnosis. My weight decreased and I became rather weak around the time of diagnosis and even got to a place where I couldn't really work out at all. For me, I was drastically underweight. I chose a weight goal, (170) @ 5'11' and used MyFitnessPal, the iphone app, to help me track my daily...
  2. For what it's worth, I've heard the "low-gluten" suggestion before but for Celiac's, this is sorely inadequate. I recommend partaking in the wine or "blood" but not the wafer or "body." My priest approved this practice as well. This is obviously subject to your religious beliefs and those could certainly differ from mine, and thats okay. Hope this...
  3. Hi - This happened to me as well. Here are some thoughts to ponder that may help... 1. Make sure you are making an extra effort to stay hydrated. I don't mean drink gallons at a time but make sure you get adequate water. 2. Eat bananas. Make fruit smoothies at your house and drink those once and awhile as a change up. 3. Consider taking some Osteo-Biflex...
  4. No. 1/8 of one teaspoon creates a reaction in our bodies even if we don't feel it per se.
  5. If you are going to eat a banana, I suggest doing it in the morning with your normal breakfast. Eggs and bacon, or on top of a waffle, or mixed in your gluten free rice crispies... If I eat them early in the day, I'm fine... If I eat them later in the day its like all my other food plus a banana is just too much to handle and I will get heart burn... ...
  6. Just noticed this is an old thread. Never hurts to re-visit a topic when necessary!
  7. I wouldn't get discouraged yet. Five days--thats early. I would give yourself a month or so to see if you have improvement. Try lotioning BEFORE you get in the shower--your entire body. Instead of a hot shower, take a warm one and keep it short. Pat your skin dry instead of rubbing it. Use shaving oil before applying your foam. Use foam instead of...
  8. I don't have an answer but I do have a suggestion for you to investigate and see if it's right for you… 1. Gluten Free 2. Alcohol Free 3. Casein Free The first two are absolutes in my mind. As for the casein, this is meat and dairy. Give yourself a month or two and if you find symptom relief consider adding your meat back. If symptoms return, ...
  9. I downloaded an app for my iPhone called "MyFitnessPal" which is a calorie counter and food tracker. I entered in my height and weight. I also entered in my target weight goal. To gain weight, it put me on a 2,600 calorie per day diet. I stuck to it religiously. Sometimes I went over but never went under. I had to eat "unhealthy" by most standards to...
  10. Wow... This thread blew my mind... I wasn't referred around too quite as many specialties but had many of the same symptoms and conversations that you mentioned. During my DX, my PCP was a good guy but just couldn't nail it down, he did finally send me to a GI and uro for some symptoms, the uro symptoms resolved almost totally since going gluten-free....
