  1. So Confused

Another thing is she has lost 5 pounds since starting gluten-free. Don't know what to think about that, I just don't want to her loose any more. When I mentioned it to her per he made a comment that he should go gluten-free to loose weight. I don't know if I should worry about it or just see if she looses any more. Since on gluten-free she eats less then what she used to before.
  2. My DD is 8 and had an endoscope and blood work done 4 months ago that came back negative. Dr said to try gluten-free for a month and see what happens. Well she has been on it for 4 months and is much better no more diarrhea, stomach pains and even her eczema is better. We were at a birthday party last weekend am they served pizza and cupcakes. My daughter knew she couldn't have any of the food served there and packed her own snacks like she usually does. Well after seeing all her friends eating that stuff she whispers to me can I have some. i explained to her that it is her body and she would be the one in pain if she had a reaction and she was willing to go for it. up until that day she has not had anything with gluten and I honestly always wondered what would happen if she did eat it so I know what kind of reaction she would have after being gluten-free for 4 months (not that I wanted my DD to have a reaction I needed her to learn that if you eat something with gluten you will get a reaction). As she ate 2 pieces of pizza and half a cupcake I was preparing myself for a long night and possible no school the next day. Hours passed and even days NOTHING happened. I don't know what to think or what to say. She has had a few things hear and there I wont let her dive into the Gluten full blast because I am afraid of what will happen. Has this ever happen to anyone out there. I am having a hard time understanding if she just has a gluten sensitivity or intolerance or none at all. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Just bought a bread maker and am looking for simple recipes. I don't want to experiment with different ones was hoping to find a foolproof one so I wouldn't have to waste all this expensive flour. Thanks in advance.
  4. My DD tested negative for Celiac and biopsy came back negative. Doctor told us to try gluten-free and so far it has helped her a lot. Before we stared gluten-free we ordered a bunch of Girl Scout cookies and the other day they came in she was sad that she wouldn't be able to eat any, and literally stared at them for a long time reading all the ingredients hoping that one would be ok to eat. I explained to her that if she ate it she would feel the pain again, and that it was her decision. Now I just want to state that she is all for the gluten-free diet because she has noticed a big difference in how she feels and has never given me a hard time about starting gluten-free. Her decision was to go and try a cookie she ended up having two thin mints and Nothing happened. No stomach pains, no diareha ...nothing. I was lost. Still am. She hasn't had any more since then but not to sure what happened.
  5. Hi, my 8 year old daughter has been gluten-free for 6 weeks now and she has lost 3 pounds. Everyone that hasn't seen her in a while notice quickly that she lost weight. She of average height and weight, just wondering if anyone's child also lost weight while going gluten-free. We eat pretty healthy even before starting her. . She does have less stomach pain while eating and the diareha is gone. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I don't think milk is the issue, she always has cereal, cheese, rice pudding, etc., and no issues with those. My only other thing would be the different brand of yogurt. Thanks for your input though I appreciate it.
  7. This evening I made a rice and chicken dish for dinner. We eat plain yogurt with our rice as a side dish with and today was the first time I bought Dannon plain yogurt. That was the only thing that she had that was different, I have made this dish a million times and she doesn't complain from it. Today afer dinner about 45 minutes after she had severe stomache pains and diareha. Her pains were so bad they kept her crying for about an hour. I gave her some children's pepto not to sure if they helped or not, but OMG I don't know what happened or if it could of been the yogurt. It doesn't have any gluten in it.
  8. My DD has been gluten-free for a couple of weeks now and I wanted to ask if your child has been glutened or is having symptoms do you give them anything to help. There have been a few times when DD is complaining of her stomach hurting but she hasn't had any gluten that I can think of. We are attending a family birthday party this weekend and so I am trying to prepare myself for a " what if" instance. I do keep snacks with me that she could have but was wondering if anyone has a kept secret...lol to help get over the pain.
  9. Oatmeal?

So if she ate it with no problems makes me wonder what is going on with her tummy.
  10. I have avoided giving my 8 year old DD any oatmeal because I couldn't get a straight answer about it being gluten-free. I have read a lot about cc and that is what I was worried about. She has been gluten-free for two weeks and it has been such a wonderful two weeks. She isn't celiac but has shown a gluten intolerance or sensitivity we are in the process of figuring it out. This morning she looked upset staring at my bowel of oatmeal, and asked when she would be able to have one. I explained the reason of cc, and that I don't know if this falls in that category or not. Then I asked her if she was willing to give it a shot and she was all for it. She at her whole bowl of strawberry oatmeal and had no reaction to it. So my ? Is do many of you eat oatmeal?
  11. Just out of curiosity how was your daughter tested for SIBO. I might want my daughter tested too.
  12. I do have a copy of her test what are you looking for its multiple pages long. Do you mean that maybe in the biopsy they weren't searching for the right things?
  13. Hello parents, I am looking for some lunch box ideas. My DD has responded well on a gluten-free diet and she has been on it for a week and a half. I am now feeling stuck on what to pack her for lunch. She used to be a sandwich type of girl but now she won't eat them saying the bread is horrible. I bought udis and Rudis bread and no luck. I have turned them into french toast and she doesn't mind that. So I am looking for lunch and snack ideas. Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks
  14. My 8 year old daughter has stomach pains right once she starts to eat and will have to get up to use the bathroom 2-3 times during a meal. Most of the time diareeha.
  15. Ok so off the candy topic, her scope tests were negative. Now he has her on a gluten free diet for 4 weeks, which I started then add gluten after the four weeks and see what happens. He also had her do a stool test, because she still is having pain while eating. Waiting on those results.
