  1. I don't have RA but I do have Psoriatic Arthritis which is pretty much the same but I also get the added bonus of psoriasis:). I was able to get off my medications by following a pretty strict diet. It's frustrating to figure out and currently am slipping so I have really sore ankles, tight wrists and a thumb I can't bend right now but I can get on track...
  2. Hate to add more to your list but you may also want to look into Oral Allergy Syndrome. Mostly because how you describe almonds. Yes, it is another extensive list of foods for intolerance and allergies.
  3. I have psoriatic arthritis which mimics rheumatoid arthritis. I don't have the Rh factor but am diagnosed through symptoms and of course the biggest one being that I have (haha had) psoriasis. I am gluten free but that alone did not clear my arthritic pain but it did more or less clear my psoriasis. If I have tomato I get the worst lower back pain. I can...
  4. Me too. I have been off gluten for six years now and before that I had chronic UTI's. I only took antibiotics when I had the chills and fever and it was too painful to function (prob 4 x's/year). Otherwise I spent most of my time on the uncomfortable side. This started in my early 20s and went on until I was 40. So glad that is over. I had one infection in...
  5. I noticed a huge improvement once I started my iron supplements. It still grows very, very slow though but no hair loss anymore.
  6. I had costochondritis years ago and wrote it off as an isolated symptom. Years later, I don't have pain anymore but find I find a hard time getting a really good inhaling breath and tend to yawn - a lot. The same as when I was diagnosed with costo. Every so often when I do try and get a really good inhale, I get a sharp pain. I have to eat a very certain...
  7. Oh, about five years ago I had the jaw thing. Not sure if it's the same as you. I had intense swelling and pain where I could hardly open my mouth anymore. My dentist suggested that I pry it as far as I could holding for 30 seconds, many times a day (you could use a cork to hold your mouth open). The next suggestion was the TENS machine. It took months before...
  8. I crack, crinkle and twitch. It is totally diet related for me and I know I am way off when I get my eye twitch. This is rare though. Even when my diet is perfect I think I still have damage from years of undiagnosis that there is a bit of damage so there will always be some cracking but no pain. I had some tomato three weeks ago and now I have a swollen...
  9. I get pain when I have dairy although I can have heavy whipped cream with my coffee (no additives just cream, I use Organic Meadows). But if I have milk with my coffee I get extreme upper neck pain and a foul mood. My son gets neck pain from dairy too. My knee only swells from fresh tomatoes. This food journey is just so bizarre.
  10. My doctor(s) wouldn't test me for Celiac because I don't have gastrointesintal issues but I had so many other things going on. "Food is not your issue" I believe I was told. I quit gluten two years ago and my issues have cleared 90-95%. My son was tested at age two and his test was covered by OHIP.
  11. I have two boys gluten free. My youngest (age 3) would have terrible meltdowns with no control of his emotions - he didn't know why he was so frustrated. Everyone said it was because he couldn't talk yet so he can't communicate what he has to say. He was also quite pigeon toed. He slips under the radar for autism and is growing well (he did have loose stools...
  12. Funny because some chips set me off too? Then it gets me thinking it's potatoes but I can make my own and be okay. Hmmm, wonder what else is added to the chips? Oh, and the Kettle brand is my worst offender. Am totally trying those beet chips as I have a bag of beets sitting on my counter as I type.
