  1. Hi Gatita, I had my gall bladder removed almost 3 years ago. I wish I would of read more about the function of the gall bladder instead of just going with the Dr. orders. Only recently did I go gluten free ( 1 month) and now back on gluten for testing purposes. After the gall bladder removal I didn't notice any difference in my body. But starting last year I started getting D off and on but most importantly I have pain coming from my liver now. My test for liver function look okay on paper but I know it isn't normal to have pain in my liver. I have been taking a liver detox tea and lemon water first thing in the morning in order to keep my liver from pain. Basically without your gall bladder you are expecting more from your liver to cleanse everything out of your system. I would try to find a natural way to boost your gall bladder and hopefully a healthy gluten free diet can help you heal without the neccessity of removing a vital organ. If it isn't hurting you, why remove it? Be well!
  2. I've been gluten free since this Feb. 1, the first week I had major withdrawals and tried to eat gluten 6 days after going gluten free for testing purposes. Prior to going gluten-free I never suspected celiac and started the diet alongside my daughter for support. After trying to reintroduce gluten after only 6 days I got really sick with major D and had to go to urgent care with dehydration, nausea, cramps, etc. I had my appt. with the G.I. doctor last week and they are recommending a colonoscopy and endoscopy the earliest appt is in 2 months. The G.I. doctor was in and out and I mostly dealt with the P.A. My question is, I know about the gluten challenge but I don't think I can stomach that. Is there smaller amounts I can take. How would some of you recommend I approach going back on gluten for testing purposes. Or should I just go for the test and hope for the best since I've gotten so sick from being glutened. I also learned that I can't tolerate dairy and gluten-free processed foods like cereal. I feel best when I eat soups, vegetables and proteins and limit the amounts of safe grains. Some of my longtime symptoms of over 15 years have improved in just 1 month like psorasis and hair falling so I know I'm on the right track being gluten free. Any recommendations on gently reintroducing gluten? Or am I symptoms severe enough that my body wouldn't heal that quickly for the test? Thanks for the help!
  3. Thanks for your reply. I am trying to read up on this as much as possible but it feels like it is a moving freight train. We got a call from her school today that she is crying uncontrollably. She is on a low gluten diet but I realize that it may be too much. Basically, I have her eating gluten once a day(pizza, pasta). Is there any suggestions on weaning her off of gluten. Should I consider more of a 50/50 approach when it comes to gluten.
  4. Hi! New here. My daughter has Autism and decided to put her on a gluten free diet to see if there would be any improvements in behaviour/language etc. Both her and I went Gluten free and had major withdrawals. Both had insomnia after 3 days- sleeping only 1-2 hours a night, both our tummy's went down 3 sizes, I had so much gas the best way to describe it is that I felt like I was deflating like a ballon, my daughter went ballsitic hitting kids in her Kindergarten classroom. In one week I lost 7 lbs. Of course all of this freaked me out a bit and realized that there may be an underlying medical issue. I put my daughter back on a low dose of gluten. Her blood test for celiac came back positive and we are being referred to a GI doc. My issue is a little more complicated. I tried to eat gluten again when I realized that I may need testing for celiac. Unfortunately, I ended up in urgent care, sick! sick! lots of Diarrhea, nausea, splitting headache, cramps, bloating, etc. The docs all think it is a stomach flu but I was luckily referred to a GI doc, my appt is in 2 weeks. I am staying gluten and dairy free as that is the only way that keeps me from having diarrhea and nausea. I had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago, I've had psorasis and ecezema for 20 years, recently had one infection after another both bronchitis and asthma (first time with asthma). What type of testing should I be asking the GI doctor? I'm too afraid of getting sick (more days off work) to get back on gluten? For my daughter what are my options in terms of testing beyond the blood test? And any suggestions for easing withdrawal symptoms for my daughter once she goes totally gluten free again?
