  2. Ok, I just want to make sure I understand what you are saying. If my Immunoglobulin A result was not high, then the test would have been inconclusive?
  3. I wasn't gluten-free leading up to my test. I was tested 3 months ago and my doctor says that the high Immunoglobulin A test result indicates a gluten intolerance. But a gluten-free friend of mine said that if one of the tests comes back high that I have Celiac. I'm totally confused. So even though one of the tests came back high, I don't have Celiac?
  4. I have tried ciders and I am fine with those. I've had omission, and I don't remember any issues with that either, other than the fact that I didn't like the taste. Now when I drink I just go for mixed drinks. Most rum is gluten-free and I haven't had any issues with that.

    I am having the same problem. I can't figure out if I'm just eating something wrong, or if it's due to cross contamination. It's very difficult, with all the boxed and processed foods these days, to know what to look for on the label. I had a friend tell me that I should stick to organic food, and if it has more than 5 ingredients in it, to steer clear of it. This has been a difficult change for me, seeing as I don't really cook. I get sick randomly, and I try and think about what I had to eat that day. But sometimes I react and sometimes I don't. Which is why I'm thinking cross contamination. I had ONE piece of licorice, even tho I know I shouldn't eat it. That was the worst night of my life. I didn't realize that migraines/headaches were a reaction to gluten. That makes so much more sense now!
  6. Yes, I have tried the New Planet. It is better than most, but still not like a "light" beer. I honestly don't think there is such a thing out there! I tried New Grist, which I think is the closest thing I have been able to find to a light beer. I may just have to go with that until someone starts making new ones. Gluten free foods/beverages are getting to be more popular I think.
  7. I've been reading all about these test results and I don't understand what I have. There seems to be different wording for some of the tests and I don't understand my results. I know one is high, but does that mean I've got Celiac Disease, or just a gluten intolerance Do I need to get the biopsy done? I've been gluten-free for 3 months now, would I need to go back to eating gluten before I get the biopsy done? Here are my test results: Immunoglobulin A: 427 (normal range 68-378) Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody, lgA: 5 (normal range 0-19) Gliadin lgA Antibodies: 5 (normal range 0-19) thanks in advance for any assistance!
  8. Hello everyone. I'm new to this site and newly gluten-free. I have been trying different types of beers to see if I can find one that tastes like Bud Lite or similar brands. I don't like dark beers, and I was hoping there was a beer that tasted closer to a lite beer. I have tried Redbridge, but it has an odd flavor to me. I've had ciders, but I'm sick of those. I've tried Omission, and that was absolutely disgusting to me. Bards is ok, but still not lite beer. I know that it will be difficult. I tried the raspberry New Planet which was good, but I'm thinking it was only good because it tasted like raspberries instead of beer. Any other suggestions?
