  1. Good luck to you! It gets easier quickly. I just got diagnosed in July and feel very comfortable with it all. Hang in there and get good gluten free treats so you don't feel deprived. Keep good snacks at work so you don't feel tempted by the junk there!
  2. thanks. Thank you. I will check and see if same test. It was by two different doctors.
  3. It seems that way at first: that gluten is in everything! I am fifty days into this and treat myself to all good things that are gluten free. I love almonds and good fruit. I like celery with peanut butter. There are so many good things but not in a box usually! Meat is good: but not hot dogs or things with fillers. If you can meet someone else w celiac and go visit them at their house it is so helpful. A great tip I got was label condiments gluten-free for gluten free or no if not. Good luck! Read all you can ! I read every day instead of tv to learn about gluten free living.
  4. I was diagnosed by biopsy first, then in July had bloodwork that confirmed celiac. My level for the iGa was 85. Forty days later of being gluten free I was retested by another gastro amd the test was 138. Why would it increase? I had a few mistakes the first week, but have been so vigilant. Not even eating gluten free breads or crackers. Mostly fruit, veggies, nuts, and meat. I do eat yogurt which is gluten free. Could I be getting this much cross contamination? I eat out but tell server I have celiac and must be gluten free.
  5. Thank you for the thyroid info. I am going to request to get that tested. I am just not improving, still in pain, chronically constipated despite figs and nuts and more fruits than I have ever eaten! This gluten-free diet sure is healthy. I wonder why doc did not refer me for bone density either since I broke my wrist 7 mos ago. Gotta be smarter than the doctors about what we need I guess.
  6. Help! Diagnosed by biopsy in July and bloodwork. Thought I had ulcers and constipation. Anyway I have been gluten free obsessively but am still very constipated and in pain. I have subtotal villous blunting and intraepithelial lymphocytes. I got 83 on my tTG bloodwork. I am desperate to go to bathroom and went to health food store. The owner suggested a herbal detox wild rose. I did take last night but am a little afraid. Nothing happened anyway as far as constipation. I am wondering if I am too early in healing to do this herbal detox? Any advice from other celiac with constipation? Wonder if I might have thyroid issue too. Thanks for any advise.
