  1. If you eat a lot of bread, then it makes sense to have one. I for example, find it easier to keep flour in the cupboard and make the bread when I need to, than having to go to the shop to buy fresh bread- also where I live it is very difficult to find nice fresh gluten free bread... It always comes from a packet and tastes awful!! Even toasted... ... Ah...
  2. No, it doesn't- you actually DO need a bread maker with ht egluten free settin because the dough rises at different rates than normal bread - also if you just use a normal bread maker without the special setting they break down very quickly. When making your bread you should follow the instructions on how to add the ingredients, quantities, etc to he letter...

  4. Congratulations, my dear... I am soo pleased for you!
  5. Well, I get a horrendous reaction even if I just look at gluten... ! I am exaggerating , but it is very close... I am still learning to live gluten-free and I KNOW when I have been glutened... with even the smallest crumb ..
  6. I am reading these stories and I just want to cry....! I have felt like a space cadette all my life, I am now old and have just been diagnosed- I also never went to the doctor for these issues as I thought they were part of my personality. I am an academic and sometimes I go to talks where I am I specialist in and just cannot make head nor tails of what they...
  7. Thanks so much for your reassurance- This is precisely what I am doing, I'm not doing any more challenges just for their sake... I am actually quite tired of the doctors' s lack of imagination and insensitivity ...
  8. I think I am one of those people squirmingitch describes- I am still a half diagnosed celiac... I have already posted in other threads about my case, please excuse me if I am repeating myself.... After havering been on a gluten challenge for 8 weeks I went for an endoscopy, and the endoscopist saw mild scallopings in my intestine and said I was celiac- however...
  9. Hi Porcelina, just seen your post- I know very well how you feel... I also had a similar experience, after 9 weeks of challenge I had my endoscopy and the surgeon who performed it saw scallopings which to him suggested celiac- however, both my blood test and biopsies were negative. I also just like you don't consume huge amounts of breads and pasta, etc-...
  10. Thanks so much for pointing this out to me, I actually get them inside my mouth too, especially all over my front and middle palate... Extremely painful when eating...
  11. Hi again, I think DH mainly appears around the neck and scull area in the upper body, but I have seen photos of a lady in the celiac.com photo bank who had it in the face I think.... Especially during the second part of the challenge ( w 5- 9) I also constantly had herpes-like ulcers in and around my mouth.. Charming!! But I get something like DH on my upper...

    Day Thirty One

Oh dear, poor you- I had my biopsy yesterday and although I still have not received the results, the doctor was able to see "scallopings" that suggested celiac!! And I was told to go gluten free again! Hang in Porcelina, there is an end to this nightmare!!

    Day Thirty One

I am also on a gluten challenge at the moment, I am on week 7 and I found that after week 4 my symptoms changed a bit. After the initial severe shock to the system after having been gluten free for two months prior to the challenge, I now have a constant tummy ache, joints on fire, constant tiredness, etc, etc and general desperation!! I am very grateful...
