  1. About a week or two ago, I created a thread asking about muscle twitchings and asked if any other celiacs had them. After taking a physical examination and an EMG, the neurologist said that "nothing scared him" with my results and was of the opinion that I had cramp fasciculation syndrome. He also made it a point to say that celiac disease can cause a lot of harm to one's body. Having dealt with almost everything that a celiac could go through, yes, I agree. But (which I guess is a good thing because he wasn't too worried), he didn't give me a run down of what I might do to deal with this; he simply left. The nurse told me that everything would be discussed at the follow-up in six weeks. So I have a few questions. First, has anyone else had the diagnosis of benign/cramp fasciculation syndrom with celiacs? What did you all do to treat it? Did it eventually go away? Thank you for all your help.
  2. Hello all. This is my first post, and I am simply wondering if any of you here have had a similar issue after diagnosis? Well, my story goes: I was recently diagnosed with celiacs, a month ago actually, after a while of not having it treated. Celiacs, for me, wasn't so much as a slow build up as it was a sudden storm. Because of the sudden on-set of it, the doctors I dealt with thought it was a heart condition, GI cancers, and other GI issues; all my tests came back negative and the doctors were confused. It wasn't until a friend of mine who has celiacs said I might have it that I asked the doctor to test me. My blood test came back as celiac. The other blood tests showed, or as I was told, were consistent with someone who has celiacs; I assume that meant my vitamins and whatnot were out of balance. After diagnosis, though, one issue has stayed. My muscles twitch, not constantly, but a good portion of the day. The twitching is NOT focused in one area, but likes some areas more than others. My quads, calves, tricep, and intestinal area. Specifically, my intestinal area when I need to go to the bathroom. I have seen a neurologist, the physical exam showed that my eyes, strength, and coordination are normal. I am also having an EMG test soon. My question is: have any of you had a similar issue? Since June, I've just been wrought with worry because the sudden on-set of everything, and I would just like to know if any of you all have had something similar to help me worry less about what might possible be wrong. Thank you.
