  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Pizza!

I live in MD so this won't affect me but did anyone watch the Food Network today? On the show "Recipe for Success" today they showed a pizza place in Manhattan that has soy/rice cheeses and gluten free crusts. All ingredients are organic! The owner is a lactose intolerant pizza lover and started up a business. Here's the website: http://www.sliceperfect.com/ Next time I visit NYC, I know where I'm going....
  3. Bah Humbug!

I went to Christmas Eve dinner at my boyfriend's aunt and uncle's. They have a big Italian Seafood feast. (Something about the 7 fish/7 sacraments...) Anyway, while they all ate mounds of spaghetti and homemade italian bread from Little Italy, I ate the Squngili Salad. (lettuce, onions, olives and the seafood.) (steamed clams, mussels and squid, I am not a big fan of any of them.) The salad had olive oil and red wine vinegar. (Does anyone know if red wine vinegar is gluten free, I had some symptoms the next day and am still trying to figure out if that is the cluprit?) To top that off, they had homemade peach pie for dessert. (they even picked the peaches from the orchard that morning.) I had about 4 glasses of wine during the entire feast and tried not to think about it.
  4. Anyone In Md Or East Coast?

Thank you! I have been getting the Chai Latte with Soy...
  5. Quick Question Ladies

I just found out I am a celiac but I've always had extremely painful cramps. I also have endometriosis (which is extremely hard to diagnose) since I was about 14 or so. (I'm 26 now.) I don't think endometriosis and celiac are related at all. But things that work for my cramps are: Thermocare heating patches (wonderful!) Advil Liqui-Gels (although I haven't checked if they're gluten free) Birth Control helps. I went on it when I was 16 to help with the pain. I am very sensitive to the Pill though so I am on Nuva Ring. (The 1st and only birth control that does not make me sick!!) Maybe check with an OB-GYN and see about your options. Mandy
  6. Anyone In Md Or East Coast?

Hello, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I am new here. Recently diagnosed with Celiac also extremely lactose intolerant. I'm 26 and live in Maryland. (Baltimore County) I've been on this board quite a few times since I've been diagnosed with Celiac. (October 26, 2005) I'd do google searches "is Starbucks gluten free"...etc, and this forum always came up with the answers, so I decided to join today. My family is very supportive but it would also be nice to talk with people who know what it's like. Mandy
