About Me

I am DQ2 Homozygous, hit the genetic jackpot!  I have 3 kids, all of them are also Celiac.  I love the outdoors and being active.  I'm determined to show my kids that you can still live life with Celiac, just have to plan ahead....

  1. Gabriel Cosmetics and ZuZu Luxe have certified products. I use them regularly. https://gabrielcosmeticsinc.com/ On their FAQ page: Are your products Gluten-Free*? Gabriel, Zuzu Luxe and Clean Kids Naturally have been certified gluten-free by the Gluten Intolerance Group. According to GFCO’s website their certification seal, “stands for...
  2. 3 of my children and myself were all negative on the celiac panel bloodwork. You could always have the genetic test and biopsy. We had ours done through Prometheus. The link is listed below. https://www.prometheusbiosciences.com/celiac-genetics/
  3. Our house uses Everyone Soaps. They are certified gluten free by the GFCO. They have a wide range of products. My kids love the 3 in 1 soap (shampoo/body wash/bubble bath). Desert Essence also has some gluten free products, you will have to check each item on it's website for the gluten-free symbol. I also have used Gabriel Cosmeics (Zuzu Luxe...
  4. Brand name Adderall XR is gluten free, but the problem comes down to the generics. I've looked at the ingredients of several online prior to posting here. It would be nice to have the FDA pass the gluten in medications act! It would save a lot of people some time and trouble. So in saying all of that - My options are Actavis, Teva and Shire...
  5. I'm currently taking Vyvanse for ADHD. My insurance won't cover the medication due to wanting me to try other generic options through step therapy. Vyvanse has been a great help over the past month but I truly can't keep paying full price for the medication. My doctor will prescribe generic Adderall XR at my next appointment. I've called a few manufactures...
  6. Eucerin lotion has gluten in it. She needs to use products that are gluten free. You have to think how many times a day a kid will touch their lips or pick something up to eat. If that body product has gluten in it, she will end up ingesting it somehow. Same thing applies with lipgloss/lip balm. Also something to think about since the school...
  7. My kids and I use Everyone Lotion. It's Certified Gluten Free. I've been able to find it at my local Wal Mart and have ordered it from the site below. I second what Ennis said about calling/emailing the manufacturers. Also, Gabriel Cosmetics and ZuZu Luxe have certified products. My daughter and myself use their line of makeup. https://www...
  8. Both sets are made on shared lines. That was the point of my response. Many people have gotten sick from Gluten free products from Frito Lay.
  9. I understand the link. I’ve gotten sick from Frito products that are labeled gluten free. I called and spoke with them on their processes, they “clean” the lines. I won’t buy products that are ran on shared lines/“cleaned”. It’s not worth it.
  10. The issue with Frito is they use the same lines with gluten containing products. Even though they clean them there is still a chance in cross contamination.
  11. I had edited my comment earlier to show that I was talking about regular Rice Krispies. My eyes skipped over the "BROWN" in the post.
  12. Regular Rice Krispies in the US and Canada are not gluten free. They contain Barley Malt. See the below ingredients of the Rice Krispies in Canada... Ingredients: Rice, sugar, salt, corn and barley malt extract, Vitamins and minerals: iron, niacinamide, thiamine hydrochloride, cholecalciferol (vitamin d3), pyridoxine hydrochloride, d-calcium pantothenate...
  13. We use Schar Artisan Baker Multigrain Bread in our house. My kids say this one doesn't choke them, haha... The ingredients are listed below for those that might have additional intolerances. Ingredients: water , rice starch , sourdough (water, rice, flour) , corn starch , agave syrup , buckwheat flour , sunflower oil...
  14. I am Catholic and only receive wine, the blood of Christ. Our priest makes sure that my kids and I are the first ones to receive communion from the chalice. The wafer is considered low gluten.
