  1. I have non-celiac gluten sensitivity and had pretty bad gastritis/esophagitis (even while taking PPIs / H2 blockers) before finally getting diagnosed. I definitely feel as though there is a link! Symptoms improved greatly after going gluten-free, to the point that I only take medicine intermittently
  2. Hello! I also have Raynaud's. Mine started in high school (it was very infrequent then), but has really ramped up the past two years as my immune system has started going nuts. I was diagnosed with non-celiac gluten sensitivity, but I will still get Raynaud's when I've been glutened (as well all the other crazy symptoms), or if I touch cold things, walk outside...
  3. Dear Poorlypixie, Your story sounds VERY similar to mine. I had been struggling for about 5 years with similar symptoms that were just getting worse and worse. I got the point where I was close to passing out just from simple tasks... relentless diarrhea (occasional bleeding), horrible GERD, headaches almost every day which progressed to migraines, anxiety...
  4. My symptoms will peak at around 4-5 days, and last for about 2 weeks or so. It can be really tough sometimes when you feel the symptoms coming on and realize what has happened. It's definitely a learning experience to know how careful you need to be. It gets easier with time!
  5. I am newly (and finally) diagnosed with NCGS. After being gluten free for a couple of months, I pushed my luck and ate some frozen vegetables that were "processed in a facility that processes wheat"... lo and behold I was sick for two weeks from eating those vegetables over the course of a couple days. (My symptoms are typically delayed by about 5 days, so...
  6. Hi johno, Concerning your "not feeling anything" the next day after eating gluten - it can take days to weeks to months for your body to react to gluten, depending on how quickly your immune system works. For me personally, I don't experience the flare of symptoms until about 5-10 days after eating gluten. Then it'll hit me like a train. And the symptoms...
  7. Hi Arduaine! As you've been told, symptoms vary dramatically from person to person. I seem to have a slow-moving immune system - very delayed reactions and very long lasting symptoms. My symptoms flare at about 5-10 days post-ingestion and can last up to 2 months. It's just so different for each person! I do have NCGS and not classic Celiac, so that might...
  8. Ok good! I'm glad that you have gotten those things done. I know that's incredibly frustrating to have "normal" results come back. Hmm... honestly nothing comes to mind at the moment. I know that when I'm getting weird mystery illness stuff like this, I give myself a time-limit of when I will pursue more answers. For example... "In 5 weeks, if I'm still feeling...
  9. I have not been diagnosed Celiac yet, but when I do gluten challenges, my mouth will chronically burn. It feels like a sunburn in my mouth! My tongue will also get chronically swollen and inflamed and will sort of peel off (similar to glossitis migrans) and I will also get aphthous ulcers at the same time. When I go gluten free, the mouth burning goes away...
  10. First off, you're right. Something is not right in your body, whether or not the doctors have figured it out. During my past two gluten challenges, it has taken about 7-15 days to get symptoms from gluten. Since celiac is a type 4 hypersensitivity reaction, symptoms can be delayed for days to weeks to maybe even months! Regarding your other constitutional...
  11. Though I haven't been diagnosed Celiac (though I'm highly suspicious this is the case), I too have had CRAZY intestinal sounds when I have gluten in my diet. I'm currently doing a 5 week gluten challenge so I can get blood tests, and just like clockwork my stomach and intestines have gone nuts. Making all sorts of loud sounds. It's unfortunate because I'm...
  12. I've found that the majority of my symptoms will hit the hardest about 1.5-2 weeks after gluten consumption. From the research I've done, it seems that NCGS seems to have more immediate symptom onset, whereas celiac seems to be more delayed (since it is a delayed hypersensitivity reaction). One source was even saying that there could be a delayed reaction...
