  1. Doctor In Albany, Ny

Paula, I am recently diagnosed (3mo or so). I am going to see a Dr. Bartholomew she is with the Albany Medical Center Center for Gastrenterology. I have not been yet , but when I called there were something like 10-15 docs in their practice and I asked if any of them were specialists in celiac disease and they said that she was. I just called them and asked to be put on a call list so that I might get in earlier. I am having allot of trouble. GOOD LUCK TO YOU
  2. Has anyone ever had a reaction to brown sugar? The other day I had a bowl of grits and used brown sugar and soy milk (dairy protien allergy) and about 15 minutes later I was so sick, diarreah and throwing up, chills and shaking? I am so confused, still trying to muddle through and figure out what I can and can't eat. I would have used regular sugar but the dietician I went to said that brown had more calories and since I am still loosing weight (5'4" and 104 lbs) she wanted me to use the brown instead of the regular.
  3. Woman's Day

The Woman's Day article is what prompted me to give yet another Dr. a shot. I pretty much had to beg her to do the antibody test. She told me that I was a Bi-polar/anorexic . I said "Fine I'll make an appointment with a psychiatrist if you'll run this bloodtest". Sure enough my antibody was 101. Thanks to Woman's Day I am on the road to recovery!!!

  6. I am very new to this Celiac and gluten-free stuff. First I would like to start by saying that the villi in the intestines are NOT flat or so the GI Doc says however, the Gluten Antibody was almost 4x the limit for a strong positive. The GI doc says it's not Celiac and my MD says that she is willing to bet that it is, and that you can have Celiac for a long time and not have the villi be flat????? I have been gluten-free for 4 full days now and feeling better than I have in almost 6 years. I am however feeling like a goldfish in an ocean with the gluten-free food. I don't really know what to look for aside from Wheat, Rye and Barleyand I went shopping the other day and it cost me 106.00 for 4 bags of groceries. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
