  2. mama2, I just wanted to let you know that I made these muffins on Saturday night... TO DIE FOR! I love love love them, and can't tell the difference between them and the real thing except for maybe the texture... but even then, pretty dang close. They're excellent to curl up with a cup of cocoa and read a book! Thanks sooo much for the recipe.

    hey, i've tried the chocolate one, i bought it at reams across teh street from the place. never actually been inside. are all their flavors gluten free? what's your fave? Hey, they have a gluten free list... I love the cinnimon, I love vanilla, and now have started to make my own in attempts to copy it. The recipe is easy, if you want it I'll post it. Not all flavors are gluten free though, so watch out. Some of the ones I wanted to try (Toffee) were not gluten-free, so I just got like blueberry and cinnimon or something, I loved it. Hey, Noodles and Co has a gluten-free menu? WHo knew? Well now I know where I can ask to go on dates! Hey, whats' good from there?

    Everyone try out Pudding on the Rice in Provo! Sooooo good! Also try out the Old Spaghetti Factory in Taylorsville, very very good!
  5. As far as I'm concerned, if you were feeling better off of the sugar, dairy, and gluten, stay off of it! The proof is in the pudding, right?! You can still be gluten intollerant even if you had a negative biopsy and blood test. I had a positive blood test and negative biopsy, but am still convinced I am gluten intollerant. My doctor even gave me a note for it . Hope you feel better soon!

    hey guys, i haven't been on here in a long time, with moving and everything. i'm living in provo now. sorry to all who have felt left out because of the ward lingo, it just happens, espcecially since some of us are members. we all have a health problem, and that is what brings us together. i don't have celiac, but i do have a gluten intollerance and possibly casein intollerance as well. i'm just trying to feel better and healthier, and hopefully you are as well. we are not trying to weed people out. we accept all people. i hope that we can do a better job of including people and not making them feel isolated. i welcome all the new people, as i have slacked in coming to the forum quite a bit... but... i'm trying to be better and to come more often! suzannabanana, i really think elimination diets are wonderful. the trick is that you only introduce one food at a time every two weeks. if we can help, we'd love to. good luck.

  8. Lump In The Throat

    Could it be a hiatal hernia? I have one of those, and it sounds like what I have. It gets worse if I'm glutened and I find my throat swells up... I'm not sure how to treat it though. Good luck.

  11. congratulations on being able to come to the best place ever! just kidding, i'm a little biased since i live here in slc. anyway i wanted to mention to you if you're going to be in the downtown area, you might want to check out The Roof Restaurant located in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. it is a wonderful all you can eat buffet. you will have to call to make reservations, just google it or "Temple Square Hospitality Corporation" and it will come up. let them know you have gluten intollerance so you can get something good for desert like ice cream because they usually have a lot of gluten items. It's a buffet, and is kind of pricey, but well worth it and the view of Temple Square is marvelous for tourists. They serve prime rib and honey baked ham every night, shrimp, sometimes salmon, salad though i'm not sure about the dressings, and have great mashed potatoes and I think those are okay. I know I sound like an add for them, but it's great. Another great place to go is the Old Spaghetti Factory in Taylorsville. Like someone said there is the Against the Grain there too. They have WildOats downtown... It's on 400 South and 700 East in that shopping center. You can get to it via the University Trax Trolley Square drop-off. There's also a Chili's on 400 South too. Another great place to go just for restaraunts is 300 South. I think Buca de Bepa's has gluten free stuff but I'm not positive. In the gateway there are a lot of restaurants too like Thaifoon (sp?). The closest Outback is either in American Fork or Bountiful which are both kind of out of the way, so I wouldn't suggest that. Beware of Rumbi Island Grill! I used to work there, the food is FABULOUS but there are probably lots of cc issues because it's fast food and they use a lot of Teriaki/Jerk sauce with their bowls. Rodizio's is sooooooo good. It is located in the top of the trolley square shopping center and Betsy's right, you do get lots of meat. But it's also an all you can eat kind of deal, and a salad if I'm remembering correctly. Most of the places in downtown have restaraunts in them, I know Raddisson does and Little America does too. Maybe the place you're staying will too?   13. I have heard about Stevia. A friend of mine who swears for it and against Splenda loves it. I will check out my local food store. Thanks for mentioning it.
