  1. Celiac.com 11/08/2017 - Gluten-free diets are popular lately, and not just with people who have celiac disease or other gluten-sensitivities. In fact, the vast majority of people who eat gluten-free food do not have celiac disease, or any other clear reason to avoid gluten. Going gluten-free has also become popular among various sports figures and athletes. Some athletes do claim to have celiac disease or other sensitivities to gluten. Others embrace a gluten-free diet based on beliefs that the diet can help to improve their performance or recovery times. To that latter group, we can now add New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady. In a recent interview, the Brady family's personal chef, Allen Campbell, provided details about Brady's personal dietary preferences, especially the foods he avoids. The foods tom Brady avoids include: Coffee—Again, concerns of inflammation lead Brady to avoid coffee. Dairy—The entire Brady avoids milk and dairy products. Fresh fruits—Concerns over too much sugar lead Brady to generally avoid fresh fruits, though he does partake in an occasional fruit smoothie. Gatorade—CBS Sports reports that Brady uses lots of lemons to make his own sugar-free electrolyte drink for games. Gluten—Concerns that gluten could cause inflammation and mess up his digestion lead Brady to avoid gluten, even though he does not have celiac disease. Nightshades—Brady avoids fruits and vegetables that may promote inflammation, such as nightshades. Common foods in the nightshade include potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, hot peppers, eggplants, pimentos, huckleberries, tomatillos, paprika, ground cayenne pepper and hot sauce. Processed oils—Campbell cooks with coconut oil instead of olive oil. Brady will eat olive oil if it is raw and uncooked. White sugar—Concerns of inflammation lead Brady to avoid white sugar. White flour—Concerns of inflammation lead Brady to avoid white flour.

If your Doctor approved it (which he or she will) since it is a Deadly disease (which i dont like to admit) your child can make a wish too. She is soooo excited. i am so happy for her. all i hear is "are we going to see "Cinnanella" yet? huh? huh?"

    Disney Foods

Amanda has been accepted to "Make-a-Wish Foundation" and her wish is to go to Disney to see Cinderella. We are going in Aug. What i would like to know if anyone has gone to Disney and has any gluten-free lists. She and our whole family will be staying in a villa at "Give kids the World" and they will accomodate her gluten-free diet there, but "make a wish" says that we might have to drive the 14 miles to and from disney to GKTW to eat. that is too inconvienient. what is the use of going to disney if she cant eat there???? so if anyone has any lists from disney i'd really appriciate it. here is one site i found from a dietitian. "Ask the Dietitian" http://www.dietitian.com/gluten.html (a letter from a mother with a son) We are coming to Disneyland Florida in July and have a 5-year-old son who has Celiac Disease. Can you provide any information on US producers / brands of Gluten Free products or any addresses /e-mail addresses I could contact for stock lists of those products in the Orlando/Disneyland area. Many thanks in anticipation. (answer from the dietitian) I have attached a document that lists manufacturers of gluten free products available in the US, but am not aware of what is available in Florida as I live in Minnesota. I e-mailed Disney regarding your request for gluten free foods available at Disney World in Orlando Florida, but have not received a response yet. Will forward e-mail from Disney as soon as I receive it, but am unaware of your vacation dates in the US. Would suggest you ask to speak to a Disney World customer service person when you arrive and explain your needs. Also, would suggest you look in local pharmacy or grocery stores (special diet section) for gluten free foods in addition to bringing some non-perishable gluten free foods from your home in the UK. Just received a call from Shawn in Guest Communications at Disney World in Orlando, Florida who offered the following information. There may not be many foods without gluten available at the counter service throughout the park as the foods in these stands are frozen, prepared. Instead, Shawn suggested your best service would be at full service restaurants. He spoke to executive chefs at their full service restaurants who said that while there was no special listing of menu items that are gluten free, there are vegetable and fruit plates available. Ask to talk to the chef at any restaurant who will be thrilled to come out and speak to you about what you about what your son would eat on a gluten free diet. You may also contact the restaurant manager. Shawn suggested you contact the restaurant a day ahead of time and they could make gluten free pancakes, waffles or bread for your son's breakfast. If you would like to bring some gluten free foods into Disney World, just explain to guest relations when you enter that your son is on a gluten free diet. Shawn stated that Disney World would do whatever it takes to accommodate guests on special diets. Shawn said that Disney World restaurants buy gluten free flour at Chamberlains Natural Food Products in Orlando. Hope this information makes your visit to Disney World a lot more fun! Hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP) may contain gluten. HVP has been used as a meat extender or formed into a product to imitate meat. Special flour with the gluten part removed (DP Baking Mix, DP Low Protein Wheat Starch), corn starch or rice flour can be used in place of regular flours. The flours and bread were developed by General Mills; Number one General Mills Boulevard; Golden Valley, Minnesota 55427. Also, some grocery stores carry a gluten free bread.
