Hey Guys, I'll post the question first in case you don't have time to read my story. Does/can gluten expose cause burning pain in the gut area? It seems when I MIGHT have a gluten exposure I get a "flare" of burning pain in my gut - mostly my left upper area. If I KNOW I've eaten gluten I get the burning plus the awful cramps and like I have constipation and diarrhea at the same time, my joints hurt like crazy and feel a little dizzy and this goes on strong for at least two days and takes what seems two to three weeks to go away. Backstory: My gut has been sick for 5 years. My gastro doc ran the basic tests (colonoscopy, endoscopy with all the biopsies, etc.) and my GP ran all the other stuff (CT scan, Echo of gallbladder, bloodwork). ALL normal except slight gastritis in stomach and a few diverticuli along my colon. Gastro doc said I have classic IBS. I have seriously tried every single diet change on the planet to heal up, and some have been quite extreme. The ONE thing I found for sure is that if I go strict without gluten and dairy for, say, 3 weeks, and then eat gluten again I get sicker than a dog. Now, during all my tests, my gastro doc biopsied me for celiac but at the time I didn't KNOW he was going to test me for it and HE didn't know I wasn't eating gluten. When he told me the celiac came back negative I said that was good because I hadn't been eating gluten for awhile anyway. The gasto doc was shocked and said the NEGATIVE results could totally be wrong. He told me to "Go eat all the bread that God made and come see me so we can redo the test". I took some gluten afterwards and immediately got sick. I didn't go back to my gastro doc because I wasn't about to continue to eat the gluten for 2 weeks. My GP doc says he wants to diagnose me with celiac just based on my symptoms alone. Now, the burning pain in my left upper side is so awful. Like a 6 or 7 on my pain scale.. and I've birthed 6 children with no meds. It used to come and go and now it's mostly here. I try hard to stay away from gluten but since the pandemic have been eating out "gluten free" and I think I get exposed. Yet, I'm still not sure if I am even celiac! I read somewhere that if a person is highly sensitive to gluten that an exposure can make them sick for up to a year? Now my GP doc wants to run more tests to see if I have other issues. My main question is whether gluten exposure can cause this type of burning pain? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Missi

About two months ago, I started to feel this pain in the middle of my upper abdomen after eating. This was followed by diarrhea and a loss of appetite. Then, I started to get this burning sensation in my upper abdomen which almost felt like a belt as I could feel it into my back. I was initially diagnosed with gastritis and took medications that actually helped but simply stopped working after 3 weeks. The symptoms reappeared but worse than ever. I couldn't eat anything at all and constantly had this burning sensation in my upper abdomen. My stomach felt super tight, and I used to get this weird pain in different spots as if it was being pulled inward from the inside. I went to a different doctor who diagnosed Colitis. I started taking new medications which again helped at first and then simply stopped working after around 3 weeks. Woke up in the night from pain in my upper abdomen under my left rib cage. The burning started again soon after in my upper abdomen up into my chest. My stomach feels hard and tight and I have more frequent bowel movements (no diarrhea). I still have this pain on the left side and the middle and sometimes on the right side as well. I had an ultrasound done which didn't show anything abnormal. Also had a complete blood count done which showed elevated levels of white blood cells. I also felt extreme pressure on my chest which makes it difficult to breathe. In addition, I have been experiencing tingling in my hands and in my right leg from the knee down but don't know if that is in any way related (I sit all day at work so that could also be a reason). Has someone else experienced anything like this? I am really sorry for this lengthy post, but I don't know what to do anymore.

Hello I’ve had gluten sensitivity diagnosed for a few years now, unfortunately I wasn’t smart and I kept eating gluten non stop. Now I believe I’m reaping the effects of this. But I’m curious if anyone else has these symptoms? it’s hard to use the restroom to poop, it hurts real bad and it results in hemorrhoids. I’ve had 3 hemorrhoids that haven’t gone away for awhile now. Also when I pee, it burns. And my urethra seems to burn usually all the time. I pee constantly. Even when it’s just a drop I feel the need to go at Least 5 times while in bed. I have bad skin issues but wanted to know if gluten makes them worse? I have eczema and psoriasis. But recently have developed psoriasis on my genitals in the skin folds. just curious if anyone else gets these symptoms. Really need answers here. I have pure o Ocd and these symptoms are driving me insane.

Hi guys, some months ago I found out I'm celiac and removed gluten from my diet like 4 weeks ago but I'm experience horrible symptoms like muscle twitching is happening all the time in different parts of my body. I started to feel some kind of burning feeling in my arms and legs. I don't have more stomach problems at all, my stomach feels great but I'm quite worried about these symptoms and I was reading that are like MS. someone already felt the same after going gluten free?

I have had bouts of burning, itching hands accompanied with little blisters for few years. Doc says it "contact dermatitis" and prescribed creams but they never work. They usually will go away after a few days on their own so I stopped even mentioning it to the doc. I also get little pimply blisters in my scalp, usually shortly after I notice the hands flaring up, they are also itchy as well. Also accompanied by a mild itch all over, arms, legs, and backside as well. The symptoms come on fast and are usually cleared up in a day or so. I have never been able to tie them to any particular even or food/drink, nor have I ever really thought about trying until lately. Regarding the hands - when this flares up they will itch and burn so bad I tend to scratch and rub them raw sometimes. It gets unbearable at points. I always have a bit of gas and feel a little bloated, sometimes worse that others (wife will attest to that lol). Was diagnosed with diverticulosis a few years back and have had a bout with diverticulitis (inflamed and needed meds to get it under control). Keep it under control since with fiber supplements daily. I'm always tired, can't lose weight even with dieting and the gastric band I had installed a couple of years ago. Trouble concentrating and holding attention to tasks at hand for years. Never would have thought about putting any of these together in a "pot of symptoms" until my wife read an article on gluten intolerance and celiac's. I am going to make an appointment to see my doc and try to get him to run some test for gluten intolerance but am not really sure what to say to him. I have been reading some posts on here and you all seem like a great group of helpful and informative people.. So any suggestions? Looking forward to some ideas! Tony
