Hi

I am new to this forum and indeed celiac, diagnosed 3 months ago, I have been on a gluten free diet since and a lot of my previous symptoms have disappeared which is like a new lease of life but I am really suffering with bone/muscle pain and aches. I've been researching on the internet and now thinking is it Nightshade food causing the problem ( I was previously able to eat these foods with no problem)or perhaps leaky gut, just don't know. Back to GP tomorrow but don't hold out much hope as GPs wont sent me for any allergy testing and I cant bear the thought of bring prescribed pain killers instead of getting to the root of the problem. Cold be vitamin D deficiency but I take over the recommended dose daily so not sure if that's connected. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading this

B-vitamins, and Magnesium are common issues for this in deficiencies, look them up and see if they seem to ride in with any other symptoms you have. I have suggestions on brands and dosing that I swear by if interested.

It could also be a inflammatory reaction to a food like you were thinking. Keep a food dairy writing down everything that you consume and how you feel hours later.

Welcome to the board. Bone and muscle pain are not uncommon with celiac. Neither are other intolerances. The food diary Ennis suggested can help you figure out a pattern. In some cases intolerances can be delayed so it might not be a food you ate right before the pain that got you. The diary can help you pinpoint a pattern. Without one I would have never realized that my intolerance to soy protein was contributing to my discomfort. I found a simple OTC anti-inflammatory to help a great deal along with gentle stretching after a good hot shower or bath. if the pain is related to celiac it can take some time to improve. It was about 6 months before I got a good deal of relief. If you haven't already do check the Newbie 101 thread at the top of the Coping section. It has a lot of good info on what all we need to do to be safe.

Thank you very much for your advice, much appreciated, interesting that soy was a contributing factor to your discomfort, I started eating soy base products about 3 months ago, not that this is a factor for me but certainly cant rule that out either, but thanks again, hopefully things will get better

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?

Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
