Hi Guys, 

I got diagnosed with celiac 3 months back when I join this forum and took advise from all of you on how to tackle it.. Before I start next para, I want to thank everyone whose blog and comments rwally helped me to takle this condition 

In June 2017 I was diagnosed with endoscopy and bllod report that I have celiac.. I didnt have any major symptoms apart from stomach upset for couple of days.. My IgA TTG level was as high as 80 at that time. 

The moment  I was  aware of this conditiin I went on complete gluten free diet. I stop eating out for next 2 monts and onky had food prepared at home.. Being in Indian I was not to dependednt atbhome on gluten products since mostvof induan food dont have gluten in it. But yet i took extreme precaution and in case any doubt i have avoided all the foids which may even contain trace of gluten by cross contamination. 


After 3 months, last week i did my blood report and to my surprise it came diwn to 1.5 from 80. It was. drastic change sobthis week I went for endoscopy and another blkod report and both reports come out be good.. No villous atripy and IgA Ttg at 1.25. I was very happy to see that but I know I have to take all this precautiin life long wgich is bit tough.. In last 3 months I didnt get any off day or any symptoms which bother me or my daily life.. I am feeling as good as before duagnosis.. The only thing change is that I keed tobplan my food a daybin advance.

It sounds like you are doing agood job keeping yourself safe. It can be hard at first but your diligence is obviously paying off. Good work.

    • Just read the ingredients?  Its very unlikely to have gluten in pickled stuff or cheese (except the beer cheese).  Never seen a marshmallow with gluten (I like Kraft because I think they are better).  I use McCormick for most spices & vanilla..  they are just spices.  Never seen a vanilla with gluten.     IN the US, wheat will be clearly announced in the ingredients (its a law).  Rye is only in a few things like bread or crackers & its an ingredient so it will be listed as an ingredient.  Barley is listed as barley or malt (usually barley malt).  Brewers yeast sometimes contains gluten - so avoid.  Oats need to say gluten-free oats or the product needs to be listed as gluten-free.   Lots of pre-packed lunch meats actually say gluten free on them.  Go to the store and look!
    • I'm probably the most annoying person on this forum. Lately I've been posting everyday😊  ok wondering a few brand options for products just need a list.... Pickles: Green olives: Banana peppers: Lunchmeat: turkey/salami/pepperoni Hard/block cheese (cheddar or colby): (was told the meijer brand block cheese contained gluten through, that was by the store manager so don't know if it was fully accurate) Marshmallows: Vanilla and cinnamon: Garlic powder: That's it for now I'll probably think of more. Trying to add some easy things to my diet.   
    • Hi Your tests indicates that you are positive for Celiac. I have a problem with the diagnose too. I have recently started to research about gluten intolerance and I have so many symptoms... It's like all the health issues I had all my life have an answer now. I think my mother had also Celiac disease. Unfortunately, I have lost her this year, she had bowel cancer, which spread to her lungs and bones. The problem is that I made some tests and I am apparently negative. It's true that I haven't eaten too much gluten in the last month, even my bumpy skin (on my arms and legs) looks better these days. These are my results: Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody IgA 2.25 with standard range <20 Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody IgG 1.12 with standard range <20 I know I may sound crazy, but I hoped that my diagnose would be Celiac positive, because I would finally have an answer why I feel sick and tired almost every day. And if my problem became real, then I could just start applying the solution. Any answer is appreciated. Thanks !  
    • Yeah mine was the constipation really bad, it clears up some but my constipation was partially trigger by the damage causing malabsoprtion of magnesium leading to the constipation along with other things and complications. All sore layers up into a big compounding issue, example the tiredness is a combo deal to and varies from person to person, part of it is nutrient deficiency particularly b-vitamins vitamin D, iron. magnesium, etc. Another part with the constipation has to do with the poop being stuck in you so long can cause a sort of poison like effect, and not letting your system run right. I will give some tips on top of the gluten free diet. I also suggest you read the gluten free 101, a crumb or gluten residue from scratched cookware that retains gluten can cause your antibodies to flare back up.

      Constipation, with this I suggest you supplement with magnesium citrate, Natural Vitality Magnesium Calm, start off with very small doses like 1/4tsp and over 1-2 weeks adjust it up to the full dose. It might hit a bit hard and cause loose stools while you body adjust.
      Tiredness/stress Look up Liquid Health Stress & Energy and Liquid Health Neurological support, 1tbsp each 3 times a day before meals. This will work with your B-vitamins
      You might need a Vitamin D or Iron Supplement in addition.

    • For me, the DH rash was what lead my Dr. to have me tested for celiac.  Since I have IBS, I was thinking that was what was causing my stomach issues- and I was so bloated that I looked pregnant.  It is still my DH that lets me know, I have somehow encountered gluten/cross contamination.  My skin will start burning and itching within an hour of consuming gluten. And if I don't take an antihistamine ( which helps, but does not entirely get rid of it) then I am in big trouble with the blistering etc.  The stomach issues don't occur until 8-12 hours later.  One thing I wanted to mention- you do NOT have to keep eating gluten for the endoscope/biopsy to show celiac.
