Gluten-free Dating?

We need a good Gluten-Free Singles Board! One of the hardest things I've found about being Gluten-Free is dating/living with people who are not themselves affected. Luckily I've had a couple of boyfriends who by chance (maybe they were intolerant to gluten and weren't diagnosed?) had no interest in bread and the like or if they did, didn't eat it around me! Any ideas??

I'm in New York City. Ciao for Now!

I'll second the motion.

It seems impossible to explain how much damage 1 bread crumb can cause me.

Plus it always help to be with someone dealing with the same issues.

For those of you in NYC, go to www.celiacchicks.com. They are a fantastic resource! I live in Southern CA now but used to work in Lower Manhattan, and I love to go to that site not only for the info but for the east coast connection. I believe they are based in Brooklyn. Any celiac families in Orange County CA want to get together?

I'm on OC too. In fact, I was at the Trader Joe's in LB, on PCH, and saw someone with a bunch of gluten-free stuff in their shopping cart, and thought of this board! ;-)

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
