Hi,

I'm new here so forgive me if this topic has come up before. I've been diagnosed for a yr. and a half and have been strictly adherant to a gluten-free diet. I'm wanting to know if the antihistimine nasal spray Astelin is gluten-free. I will send an enquiry to the manufacturer, but wanted to check here first for perhaps a quicker answer. (my allergies are killing me today!)

Thanks for any info you can give me.

    • Hi all!  Been coming to this forum since my diagnosis in October of 2016. Since my diagnosis it's been an up and down fight but I have more good days then bad ones now that I've been 5 months gluten free. Had a few accidents along the way but we keep going!  Recently I noticed a black vertical line that comes from the middle of my nail shooting straight up to the top. It appears to be in the thumb nail. All my other nails on my toes and hands are clear.  I did some research on this and it says it's called a splinter hemorrhage. These can be associated with many different issues ranging from endocarditis to a trauma to malnutrition. Has anyone else experienced these?  I would attach a picture of my right thumb nail but for some reason it says the picture is to large to upload.
    • Universal testing should start in all schools as early as possible.  I was diagnosed  in 7th grade from a basic sports examination by a Dr.   My Father basically turned a blind eye and said nothing wrong with my son.  A basic examination by a Doctor or good Nurse can see the signs of Gluten allergies. Just need the direction to do so.
    • Thank you all so much.  It's so great to know there are people out there that have shared my experience. I was feeling quite alone in this. I could never believe that I just had anxiety, and that was that. There has to be a reason for my body to act this way. I feel validated, and hopeful and that's a huge thing for me. I'm going to see my doctor next week, and see what she thinks. I'm hopeful that with all my symptoms (anxiety, skin rashes for months, sensitivity to light|sound, headaches, vertigo, temper) she won't shrug me off. My mom has Crohn's disease so maybe a connection. Thanks again for your advice and your ear, it truly helps.
    • I do buy Plantar's nuts too.so if you are looking for peanuts, cashews, etc
    • I have bought nuts from other suppliers like these black walnuts that only process their nuts (no fancy flavorings...just these black walnuts): https://black-walnuts.com/ You do need to confirm that nuts are not processed on equipment shared with wheat if they are not certified gluten-free or in a shell by calling.  So, mostly, being lazy, I just order from Nuts.com.
