Just noticing - - In my av you canna see the large, blacked-in hole in my smile that I painted over my teeth. Will's is quite visible.....I must have had it on the side turned slightly away. It was HUGE, and SOOOOOO trailer-parky.

I don't look nearly as phunny there as I was, truly.

Holy Smores!!!! WIH is everybody!!????!!

Took down another tree yesterday. We thought we would be able to save this tree but after the mass deforestation project of a month or so ago, we found out just how bad it really looked. Have gone out and priced some new trees . . . some of which will already be a decent size and can I just say . . . YIKES!!!

Patti . . . have you gone and checked out the hole in the ground progress on your house?

*yawn*

Still sleepy from little sleep two nights ago. Lab party tonight. yay. A bunch of people, some of whom dislike other factions, some of whom have had their hours cut because of no money, some of whom have cut their hours 'cause it's no fun to be at work......should be a rockin' time.

We plan to this weekend :)

I meant to tell you that I'm glad the JoDog's bloods tests were negative. Hopefully, that's the end of it!

Good morning everyone :)

A cold, rainy A.M. here in Clinton Township. It's been nice not to have to run the air conditioning.

Hey Emily and Peter--

Scott may have to go to Ontario next month on business and I was thinking I might go with him. Any advice on places to stay, things to do? He would have to validate new vehicles at the Brampton plant--how for is that from either of you?

That's what got me in to trouble in the first place

Callbacks were fun. Still waiting to hear if I'm in. Sorta have mixed feelings. Being there reminded me of just how much time is involved in doing a show. But it's also fun.

I am a lot closer to Brampton than Emily, but I'm not really familiar with the area. It is on the NW corner of the city of Toronto, but I haven't been there is ages. It is close enough that you could look at Toronto for accommodations and activities.

Rayechull! Youse is comin' up north? Damn, Brampton is pretty far from here, but only about a half-hour drive from downtown Toronto. There is LOTS to do and see in T.O. - - it is a phab city! You should definitely accompany Scott. You could meet POeter at the terrific restaurant that serves delicious gluten-free pizza.

I WANNA COME!!

They posted the travel schedule at his work yesterday but haven't assigned the trips, which are to be divided amongst Scott and his co-workers. The validation trips this summer are to Ontario, Toledo, Windsor, and I think Austria and/or Italy. I said I'm up for Ontario and Italy as a tag-along.

I'd love to meet up with you, Peter. We could have lunch while Scott's at work, or all meet for dinner one evening. Emily, maybe we could all drive to a half-way meeting point? I'd absolutely HATE to get so close and not meet you

:(

Anyway, I'll let you know for sure as soon we know, but it looks like it will be next month (in 3-4 weeks maybe).

Oh, how exciting! A possible meeting of sillies international :P

So far all we know is that there is a prelim. date of about August 3-5 for the trip, BUT, noone has been asssigned to it yet. Scott can request it as his trip, but the actual date is based on first run of production on vehicles out of the plant in Brampton--so the date depends entirely upon that. We will know more in a couple of weeks.

Peter and Em, what are your plans in that time frame?

Any one else game (hint-hint)? We'll drive ;)

So halfway between Toronto and Seattle appears to be Pierre, S Dakota. I really like you Mims, but maybe not enough to drive through Montana and South Dakota during the hottest part of the year...

And ho hum. Venus meets Serena. Again. <_<

Well. Must give household instructions to MIL today.....go through the dog schedule, ho'tub instructions, plants... . . . ......must hide all car keys.. . . . .. . . ......

    • There aren't any gluten free nut brand in my country. Are nuts with shells like peanuts, walnuts sold in stores without package gluten free? Do they add anything else to them?
    • Supplementation with Natural Vitality Stress & Energy, will help a lot it is a sublingual B-vitamin pretty much. I use it with the Neurological support from the same company and Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium. These along with a diet in foods that help with mood like snacking on cocoa nibs, hemp seeds, etc. Takes the edge off of everything and I do not worry but just roll with life. Here are some helpful links https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/topic/91878-newbie-info-101/ https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/topic/117090-gluten-free-food-alternatives-list/ A set of microwave cookware from nordicware will make the transition and cooking some foods super simple and cheap, steam trays, rice cooker, grill plates, omelette makes etc, also great for trips. Butcher paper/Freezer paper can make a nice safe cook and eating surface and makes clean up a breeze. Crockpot meals with a crockpot liner makes really easy soups, risotto, stews, pot roast, etc and the liner can make cleanup super simple just pull it out and toss it.    Eggs dishes like omelettes using the microwave cooker, scrambled egg dishes, are super simple and one of my go to meals I also so simple stir fry meals a lot. Saute in order of harder and seasoning veggies and meats first and finish off with a sauce/deglazing mix 10-20min meal. I have posted recipes for meals in the recipes sections. MY flat bread recipe seems to bit hit recently being cheap easy and very versatile in how you can make it.
    • Hey everyone... newbie here. I have a few questions but first my history: Dx with Hashimoto's in 2003. Had SEVERE adverse reaction to T4 no idea why but then switched to T3. But T4 opened a can of worms. Immediately after starting T4 had digestive issues. Aften a few years tried gluten free. No help but stayed on gluten-free diet. 2013 gave in to blt cravings and had wheat sandwiches everyday for a week. Woke up one morning with muscles so swollen or inflammed couldn't  get out of bed. No more gluten. Also had blood in stool. 2014 finally dx with pancreas insuffiency. Digestion improved and blood stopped but at same time also dx with colitis (i strongly doubt this dx and don't  take colitis drugs). A year later added cheese back into my diet. Bleeding came back. No more dairy now, blood gone. Now i might have gastritis and sibo. Endoscopy planned for October. 23andMe testing also shows a single mutation for celiac. If i just stay Gluten-free Casein-free does it really matter is i get a dx for celiac? Celiac disease and gluten intolerance... same thing? Is blood in stool common with celiac disease? Is colitis often a wrong dx for celiac disease. Can a biopsy dx celiac when already Gluten-free Casein-free?  Which end of the small intestines used for biopsy? Meaning, when doc looks at my stomach can he do small intestine biopsy or do i need a colonoscopy instead?
    • My 7-year-old has been complaining of constant itchiness and a skin crawling sensation for the past five months, but has no external rash or symptoms.   It seems to get worse at night, although that may be because it's more difficult to distract herself at bedtime.   We've tried switching shampoos and detergents, tepid baking soda baths followed by gluten-free lotion, re-reading the labels on anything that comes in contact with her skin, having her re-tested for more food sensitivities, and even checking the house for mold and cleaning all the air ducts.   Nothing has helped. Her pediatrician referred us to an allergist who had us try several different histamine blockers, but not even Benadryl brings relief, so it doesn't appear to be a histamine issue.  Blood tests show that her kidneys, liver and thyroid are all functioning normally.   Right now I'm trying having her go nitrate-free since that isn't included in food sensitivity tests, but so far no improvement.   Now they want to refer her to a dermatologist, but the appointment is a month away and she is MISERABLE.  I have no idea how to help her.
    • Wow! It sounds like you are going through a lot right now.  Most of our dinners at home are gluten free and my kids eat the food just fine. It does take a bit more planning and you have to make more things from scratch.  Our favorite dinners are tacos (serve on corn tortillas), red beans and rice, fajitas, grilled meat (BBQ chicken, fish, steaks, shrimp).  My crock pot is a life saver because I can leave it cooking al day and come home to a hot meal. Also, check out an instapot. I might make cooking a lot easier.
