Thus the true reason behind all the colorful pictograms.............Elsie's cursory disease has given her a bout of D and she has shat rainbow heiroglyphics all over Sillyville! :o

I simply mentioned, quietly but forcefully, that the logical thing to be blocking her tear ducts is, of course, MY MISSING CURSOR.

Crap, she did NOT entertain this idea. Can you imagine?

So....got some $ eyedrops. . . . .And the end of this story, as always, is:

░░ CHA-CHINNNNNNGGGGGG...... ░░

░░ <-----coins falling from me pockets. .. ..--------> ░░

░░. .. ..... ... . . . . .. .. . .... .. .. .. ..... .. ..... . . . . . .. . . . . ░░

OMG - I am SO easily amused of late.........

No animals! Allergic..... Wah.

So I have a moral dilemma. I am a hotel conierge, who runs a continental breakfast in a private lounge mon-fri. Of late, my manager has taken to scheduling me at the front desk, which I run quite well, which is why she's doing it, on weekends without much notice, and I've been a bit put out by this, verbally so. She's tired of hearing, but so am I. So today, having (I think) been glutened (eek!) I spent more than 50% of my time at work on the toilet. Lovely.

Now, here's my problem. The front desk itself is too far from the bathrooms for when I'm having a real emergency, and I'd really prefer not to shat my pants at work, been there done that. The private lounge I was working in today has a much closer proximity to the toilet, which was a fortunate thing twice today.

Moral dilemma part: This weekend is my boyfriend and ours anniversary. We met at a fair and had planned to go tommorrow to same fair to celebrate. My manager told me (today) that I HAVE to work tommorow. Now, at said fair, I could position myself so as to be safely near a potty at all times. Not true of work. Would it be immoral for me to go crap all day at the fair after calling out sick legitimately from work? At work I would not only run the risk of embarassing myself and ruining my pants, but of spending more than half my paid time on the toilet, yet again.

What do you all think?

Bunnie!! Go to the fair! You are sick.......it happens to be a sickness that you can accommodate at the fair, and not at work. Good enough for me! ;):)

Thanks! I need more votes, it will make me feel better. I'm very attached to my job, I hate calling out, even when I'm calling from the toilet. There is the fact that my boyfriend would be a complete ****head if I went to work tomorrow, which I'm not sure is really worth it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! I am a lttle worried about an accident (where else would someone understand that but here?) so I'm bringing a change of clothes.

I just can't fathom having that happen at work though. "Checking in?" Squirt.....

Mmmm, no. I was up at 4:30 this morning on my potty, so I called then and said, uh, yeah... No. Don't think it's gonna happen. I'm actually gonna call my doctor's office and ask if there's anything stronger than Imodium he can prescribe me, this is silly. I haven't been able to eat any real food, and that is a HUGE problem for me. I'm all shaky. Just the lack of food would keep me from being coherent today. I'd rather go the fair and have all Chris's friends make fun of me for spending the day in the potty.

Fabulous walk this morning. I have felt like crap for so many years I'd forgotten how beautiful the world is.

Here's a poll for y'all.

At what indoor temperature do you start using the heat?

My house is at 57, but I plan to go work outside as soon as the contractor shows up to talk about my sunroom, so I haven't turned it on.

We usually put the heat on when it's 58-60.

Jess, do you already have a sunroom, or are you having one built? Just something to think about if you are considering one - - DH has had SO many insurance claims involving moisture in sunrooms. We have a fair amount of precipitation around here, so you may be okay, but they are notorious for leaking/causing condensation. I would Luuuurrrve one. .. . ..... :)

We don't have a set temp where we turn the heat on. The last couple mornings, it's been in the mid forties but sunny. We haven't turned it on yet, and don't plan to at all, hopefully.

On Monday morning, we're having a pellet stove installed--an investment (especially since we had to have a section of hardwood removed and tile installed as a proper base), but our heating oil was slated to be over double what it was last year, which would have brought it well over $5,000 for the season :o

We figured, this way, it pays for itself in a few years and we don't have to rely so heavily on the oil. The pellets it burns are very efficient and sustainable, since they're made of heavily compressed hardwood sawdust.

Aren't you sorry you asked?

Putting in a sunroom. Great guy. Pointed out that if I wanted a glass roof I should buy a prefab one because putting skylights or glass panes in could be leaky. Tossed around ideas. Told him I only wanted to pay about half of what it'll cost  so then he threw out some different ideas. Said "great" on me doing some of the work (if there's any I can do) and that he's frequently given people 'homework' to finish before the next time he comes back.

Hope this works out.

I'm also a nurse, but one who has worked in chronic care, and to some extent, it is more satisfying to see patients through to a diagnosis (as opposed to working in the ED), but an accurate diagnosis does not occur not as often as it should! Your posting presents a lot of information. But a couple of things I can respond to. One, celiac disease is diagnosed by endoscopy and biopsy of the duodenum. So, pathology will need to weigh in. It's not diagnosed on gastroscopy. (At least, not as far as I know). Two, did you get blood tests for celiac disease? You will need to be eating gluten in order for those to be accurate. Three, where was the CT angiogram (of what)? I could go on and on, but thought I'd start there.
    • trents
Was a biopsy done when you had your gastroscopy? Concerning your anemia, are you B12 deficient? It's nearly impossible to get sufficient B12 if you are a vegetarian unless you take supplements.
    • Suzi374
And I’m anaemic, however I’m also female and vegetarian. I had an iron trans a couple of years ago however it’s starting to dwindle and taking supplements doesn’t seem to work. I can’t seem to absorb it.
    • Suzi374
Hi, I attended a neurologist appt last Tuesday, which I nearly cancelled, due to ongoing numbness and tingling in toes to mid foot. One of the first things he asked was ‘are you celiac’. I’m not. He thought all reflexes were ok but at the last minute decided on nerve conduction tests which were low normal. He was a little confused as he felt they should be better and tried a new set of probs, all the time, giving me multiple shocks which were not enjoyable lol. Anyway, he’s now ordered tests for myeloma, and all the vitaminy things that so many of you mention on here, also tests looking for autoimmune responses. I already have Hashimotos. Interestingly, to me, but maybe someone out there can relate or knows more than i do, although I was a nurse, but ED not ‘weird symptoms’  nurse. Anyway back to the interesting thing, I took duramine in 2013 to lose weight which caused a massive panic attack when I stopped taking it and half my hair fell out. I only took it for a week but it was horrible and I regret it. It triggered ongoing panic attacks which are horrendous. So I feel like I’m a bit crazy. Then in 2020 I had this sudden onset of horrible pain when trying to eat a cinnamon roll. It continued and I lost around 20 kgs. I had two gastroscopes and a colonoscopy and they were all normal. I scored a barium swallow and CT angiogram. All normal. The pain subsided a little but I was left with reflux and an awful feeling that I couldn’t get air when I ate some foods. This was not anxiety.  The anxiety was separate and I still maintain this. This was something to do with eating. It was like the air was thick but I wasn’t short of breath. I just had the sensation I was, then it triggered anxiety. Anyway, I had other weird things- couldn’t bend knees to shave legs in shower lol. Knees felt stiff and swollen but they weren’t. Knee WOUld swell up randomly but mri showed minimal issues. A bit of a meniscus degeneration but insignificant. Then the buzzing sensations in my head, the feeling like someone was stabbing me with something sharp. So now, I pre empted his tests, although I don’t think I’m celiac because it should have come up on gastroscopy, I’ve gone off gluten. Since Tuesday last week so 9 days. Since then I don’t appear to be as constipated, I realised I got through today without a nap and I’m not tired, maybe it’s just today and not related but I get very tired normally and sleep straight after work often, I can bend my knees and shave my legs lol, the buzzing vibrating has gone from my head, I had to call and ambulance as my heart decided we were off on a run, but we weren’t running and I’ve been a bit twitchy at bed time when trying to sleep, reflux is improving, I did get the weird suffocating feeling a bit when eating today but not as bad normall. Tingling and numbness still present and I felt like it moved up my legs a bit today but I’m a bit jittery. So I don’t know if it’s celiac disease or a gluten intolerance but I think, and it may be wishful thinking because my symptoms do make life a bit challenging, but maybe I’m feeling better. I don’t feel as cloudy. My thinking feels crisper. Like there’s no buzzing and I’m not fighting to break through the cloudiness now. I hope so much that this may help me feel a bit better moving forward. It would be a miracle as I really have struggled to work and parent and keep the house clean and I’m always anxious and exhausted.  If you get this far, please tell me if you you can relate to any of the above. Oh and tonsils out 5 years ago but before that antibiotics multiple times a year, sometimes intramuscular because they were so bad.  Op was meant to take 30 mins, it took 1.5 hours due to size of them.
    • Peace lily
Im still not gaining weight I’m on a gluten free diet . And still having issues with constapation started priobiocs figured it would help been over two weeks . I guess it’s going to be a long road for me .
