Hi-

I'm looking for celiac/GI doctors in the Sacramento, CA area.

Any ideas? Also, any thoughts on allergists in that area too?

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

I am looking for a doctor in Sacramento too.

I have a homeopathic, he is really great. He has an allergist on his team.

Health Associates Medical Group 916)489-4400 / 800)675-4515

You can actually call, and talk to him between 8am and 9am.

He really believes strongly in the "Eat Right for your Type"

4 blood types, 4 diets, it is really an amazing book.

Thanks, Nancy! I appreciate you posting, especially since I hadn't heard anything since I wrote this

almost 3 months ago! Do you live in Sacramento too?

Good luck with your search. I did find a good GI doctor (Dr. Al-juburi with UC Davis medical group)

who didn't diagnose celiac, but completely believes that I'm intolerant to gluten, & is very supportive

of my doing what I need to dietary-wise to feel better.

Thanks again,

Martha

I'm looking for a general practitioner/family doctor in Roseville or Sacramento who will be supportive of my gluten-free diet at the very least, or, if I'm really lucky, experienced in treating patients with celiac. Any suggestions?

I really like my primary care physician, Dr. Victor Baquero. He's with the UC Davis Medical Group

in Folsom (916-985-9300). I've gone to him several times with concerns that he took very seriously, & he made sure my insurance covered tests for celiac/gluten intolerance without any hesitation.

When I've gone to him with research I've found, such as the work Enterolab has done, he was very interested in the information, & supportive of my decisions to go gluten-free even though I don't have "official" celiac. I do recommend him, & will continue going to him for my healthcare needs.

Good luck!

There's a new one at UC Davis, I'll have to check up on the name.

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. It must be really frustrating and uncomfortable. Have you talked to your healthcare provider about these sudden sweating episodes? It might be helpful to discuss this with them to rule out any other underlying issues or to see if there are specific strategies or treatments that can help manage this symptom. Additionally, staying hydrated and wearing breathable clothing may provide some relief.

I am not sure where you are going, but we have articles in this section which may be helpful: https://www.celiac.com/celiac-disease/gluten-free-travel/

There are supplements available that can help breakdown minor amounts of gluten such as you might experience with cross contamination when dining out and you order gluten free items from a menu. But they will not help when larger amounts of gluten are consumed. One such product that many on this forum attest to as having helped them in this regard is GliadinX. The inventor of GlidinX is one our forum sponsors so you should know that.

There is such a thing, believe it or not, called gluten withdrawal. Gluten has addictive properties similar to opiates. I know it sounds bizarre but research it. Also, are you compensating for the loss of vitamins and minerals you were getting from the FDA mandated fortified wheat flour products you were formerly consuming?
