Gluten Free Yogurt?

Today I bought Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt. I was diagnosed in January 2008 and I read the ingredients and it looked okay. After eating it, I realized I had been glutened as I began having horrible stomach pains, fatigue, brain fog and headache. Has anyone else had this happen? Are there other good alternatives that are safe to eat out there? I am hesitant about eating anything that is not labeled gluten free now...

There are several flavors of Yoplait yogurt that are labeled gluten-free. I eat one every day with no problem. And Brown Cow brand is gluten-free also. But could it be possible that you are lactose intolerant?

WalMart brand (Great Value) is also gluten free. They put Gluten Free on the container.

Yup, all Yoplait Yogurts are gluten free with the exception of the cookies and granola ones (the obvious).

Only Dannon's Plain Yogurt is gluten free. Yoplait and Brown Cow are two gluten free brands, as long as you get the ones without granola or grains added - read the label. I also recently heard that Stoneyfield Farm's yogurt is now gluten free.

If you can get it Mountain High Yougurt is great! It states gluten-free on the label, is lower in sugar than other brands, and has the good bacteria your body needs. I use the plain one and mix fruit in during the summer. In the winter I get the flavored varieties.

Dannon states at site that unflavored is gluten free but flavoed is not. Yoplait is gluten free on all flavors. Still check to be sure. Wegmans has a whole gluten free section as well as many products in which thaey state on packaging gluten-free.

I have have never seen a yogurt with gluten .  It doesn’t make sense .  Except those ones with the granola mix in- those contain gluten.  Most yogurts even say gluten-free on them.  But I like vanilla with fresh fruit better.  Or those orange or lemon flavored ones - good plain or with fruit, too

Might check for pancreas issues and taking enzymes, might be a dead, or weak pancreas. It sounds like a digestive enzyme issue.

Yes, tried enzymes but made my stomach burn terribly. I no longer have my gallbladder. Possibly the issue.

Hi Scott, yes I have had symptoms for years and this is the second GI I have seen and he could not believe I have never been tested. He called later today and I am scheduled for an endoscopy. Is there a way to tell how severe my potential celiac is from the results above? What are the chances I will have the biopsy and come back negative and we have to keep searching for a cause?

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.
    • trents
What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.
