I am presently having multiple allergy reactions and had Thyroid script compounded to remove corn deritaves only to find I reacted for 4 days with top to toe chronic pain and stiffness, no sleep, a tailbone that was soooo painful I could hardly sit on and chronic restless irritable legs, body and mind, as I did when corn was in it. (I also react to gluten with the same symptoms but with 3 to 4 more days of diarrhea to follow). My Compound Chemist suspected I was reacting to microcrystalline cellulose and has now redone my Thyroid script again replacing it with rice. So far so good, no reaction as yet. I take 5 scripts and both corn and Microcrystaline cellulose are in them all. Its going to be an extremely expensive ongoing exercise from now on. No PBS meds now, Pensioner or not.

I've been dealt another blow. After 2 years of finally learning to live with Celiac I now have developed Diabetes. I can only assume it's the amount of sugar that I've added to my diet via pre-made gluten free food and the sugar in the other foods that are the center of my diet like yogurt and other related dairy. Plus I just spent 2 months on my back after breaking my ankle so I had no exercise and ate a lot of processed gluten free meals.
I had some of the same symptoms as I did leading up to my Celiac diagnosis, mostly an unexplainable weight loss. Is there anyone else who has had this secondary eating/nutrition issue develop since going gluten free? I've been a picky eater my whole life so finding a sustaining diet without gluten has been rough. Now I don't know what I'm going to eat. Any feedback is appreciated.
I understand the science around distillation, but there appears to be at least a grey area on this question for some where gluten grains are used in spirits: https://www.verywell.com/will-whiskey-make-me-sick-if-im-gluten-free-562778 I didn't do well on whisky after going gluten-free and had already removed gluten based spirits prior to stopping drinking entirely. So each to their own on this question in my view.
