I had a CAT scan done yesterday and asked if the barium drink was gluten free. Of course the imaging dept didn't know what I was talking about. After explaining they called the manufacturer and Readi-Cat 2 barium sulfate suspension has several flavors. The flavor given out automaticly is vanilla and it is not gluten free. The other flavors are gluten-free.

Can they accomidate you by giving you a different flavor? You could also ask for the stuff they mix with water. Here is a link to a previous thread on the subject. You could call the imaging department to see what they have they can give you that is gluten free.
