Irish sent to her room. Hahahahaha! That's hilarious.

Chocolate mint is the holy grail of mint. The best of the best imo. And there isn't anything wrong with a patio garden, especially with good herbs! :D

I'm having a 'treat meal' tonight: grilled chicken nachos with red bell pepper, onions, and mushrooms. I haven't eaten this type of meal in a long time. I'm very excited. For those that don't know I track my macronutrients so I weigh/plan my meals accordingly. I spent last night figuring out my meals for today so I could fit that in. Sooo looking forward to it!

Last night I made turkey tacos with refried beans and mexican rice.  I was worn out after cooking but gradually am able to work back up to doing more.  Tonight will be something with chicken breasts... will throw something together.

Tell them you are not Julie on the love boat (look that up all you youngsters!) and it is not your job to plan every single thing.

When I ask people "what would like like?"  and they say " I don't know", I say, "sorry I do not serve that."

Hi Irish's Mom!

Being sent to one's room isn't so bad at our age...as long as we can have a good book to read ;)

:D

hello Lisa

I know all about you.

It was futile to send Ginny to her room because she had so many  books in there and it was really

not a punishment at all.

G: Ma, do not use my real name. I like to be anonymous

B: oh stop it, They saw your picture with the half- naked doctor. And I saw you with the giant bottle of vodka.

Note to self: never tag team post with your moms.

erg.

LMAO...uh oh...Mom do you know what that means?  I don't think I want to be in trouble before we have had the opportunity to meet in person.  Hugs, Ski!

Dinner changed slightly...ribs, baked mac-n-cheese and broccoli all around :)

Hi Irish's Mom! I am on Central time so it isn't past my bedtime yet.

The problem with getting sent to my room is that they all find me! The dog, the cat, the kid, the other kid if he is home from college, the hub, my neighbor, her dog..... I need your mom to send to me Tahiti. That might be far enough to punish me! :)

We picked up some beef tips at the store today. I looked in my spellbook and found a recipe for some fried something with mustard and wine and Worcestershire. So I threw together a marinade with similar ingredients and tossed it in the fridge. I fried half with an onion for me and did his half without because he's anti-delicious things. I had more rainbow carrots and he had fries. I'm getting all adventurous and stuff, just throwing things together and hoping it turns into food when I'm done.

Kareng

Go to Tahiti this instant young lady! or you can come here. there is another bed in my room but the cat sleeps on it.

Sometimes, she stares at me. My daughter wants me to have a cat, but I said no because I have a beta fish named Alpha.

Just kidding. His name is Jake.

Irish's mom

okay, Ma. you're done here.

Say good morning to the dinner peeps.

"good mornin dinnah peeps"

ok, go sit over there please!  (my ma's mad because I beat her at scrabble last night. sore loser!)

man, just having her here for a day and my boston accent has returned.

Tonight is pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and haricots verts  ( ha ha! karen) but no vegetable melange.

I can't get my mother to eat her veggies. (how ironic is THAT?) she does not believe me that corn is a grain.

"It's in the produce section"

is her reasoning.....lmao  Green leafies? sooner eat rocks. sigh

Isn't that adventurous stuff fun? Some of my best cooking came from being all "chopped" with the food in the fridge.

You go, girl!

Hey Miss FancyPants....made me look up French Green Beans....learned my something new for the day at 5:01am...might be a new record : )

Added shredded cauliflower to my baked Mac n cheese last night.....my less than enthusiast veggie eater was suspicious so I told him....he said he tasted it and the other men told him no way....I think he actually could....but he did eat it and said he liked the sauce despite my trying to ruin it....I think I need to practice sneaking veggies in without looking guilty like I used to when he was shorter than me ;)

he says 'what the green stuff? i said kiwi.

I'm goin to hell for lying.

I could get my husband to eat anything if I could mask it in Mt Dew!

We're having breakfast for dinner. Bacon flavored sausage (yes, it's a thing), pancakes and eggs. Scrambled for him and poached for me. Hmmm... I wonder if I could mask a pureed veggie in pancakes? I should try that sometime!

I forgot that I picked up strawberries at the store yesterday, because apparently I have some sort of moronic death wish for how I want to feel Saturday night. But I'm going to make a yellow cake because I found a great recipe that looks better than a pound cake. And I think strawberries in our pancakes sounds awesome. B) I haven't touched a strawberry in over a year. Damn it, it's time!

    • ^^^^^^ good info, tips and tricks^^^^^^^^^ yes, crumbs will make you sick.  also, breathing flour/pancake mix, etc that is in the air because eventually, you're going to swallow some.
    • Hello I was diagnosed Dec 15 of last year and went totally gluten-free the next day. I actually got worse before I got better - it's a steep learning curve - but now, 4 1/2 months later I'm finally seeing improvement.  Hang in there.
    • Called my GI doctor today to make sure he is going to look at my small intestine and do biopsy for Celiac for my EGD and he is. Thanks for the tip everyone about have to start eating gluten again. The office told me to break my gluten free diet and start eating gluten everyday until my EGD. Here's to being miserable again for a few weeks 🍻🍞😩
    • I can completely relate! The horrible mental effects that I have been living with for years is the absolute worst side effect of eating gluten, HANDS DOWN. Worse than the endless tummy aches, worse than the constant diarrhea, worse than the week long migraines, worse than the daily fatigue and body pain.... I honestly though there was something seriously wrong with me and hated my life because of how I felt mentally. I always felt like I was drowning, not in control of my thoughts, trapped in some unexplained misery. My head was always so cloudy, and I was mad because I always felt so slow and stupid. I would feel so lethargic and sad and empty while at the same time be raging inside, wanting to rip out of my own skin. I was mean, terrible, would snap at the people closest to me for no good reason and just felt like I hated everyone and everything. Think of how crappy you feel when you have a terrible cold and flu - I felt that crappy, but mentally. Some days were really bad, some were mild. I always thought it was because I was getting a migraine, or because I had a migraine, or because I had just overcome a migraine, because I didn't sleep well, because....always a random reason to justify why we have all these weird unrelated symptoms before we get diagnosed. I'm happy to say that I have been gluten-free for about 2 months now and though I am not symptom free, the first thing that improved was my mood. I no longer feel foggy and miserable. For the first time in years, my head is clear, I can actually think, and I feel positive and like I am in control of what's going on in my head. I don't hate the world. I don't spend every day bawled up on the corner of the couch depressed and angry. The release of these horrible symptoms is enough to never make me want to cheat, no matter what I have to miss out on. So insane how a little minuscule amount of a stupid protein can wreck such havoc.
    • I wanted to collect some of the info on NCGI in one place so that visitors who test negative but may still have an issue with gluten can be directed there.
