  Excellent. . ..... .. ..!

But ya know, also <_< with a smattering of  and even ... . . ....... . .the clever, matter-of-fact dryness of the cartoon underlines how much poor eating is responsible for the poor health of our populations. 'Tis funny and maddening, methinks!

    • This is on their FB page:   Indeed.  My take - their ad agency / internal marketing is looking to create 'edgy' content which they calculated would play well with sports fans. They probably have a lamentable brand values document which they're trying to align their messaging on and this crass 'joke' and the embarassing climb down and pushback from their sponsored celebrity is the result. By rights the head of marketing or whoeever at senior level signed off on this should be feeling very vulnerable today, because anyone who understands marketing* should've quickly spotted that this was liable to blow up in their faces.                                   *Note that lots of people pretend to, but just look at some of the crappy campaigns that get the green light...
    • I did a bit of a compilation of gluten free foods, you can find just about everything gluten-free now you just have to pay a bit more and shop around. I have gotten great at cooking gluten-free also....and bashing cravings with extracts....heck I just did a fun experiment where I wanted a super chewy gluten like bread, I did my own bread recipe with double almost 3x the psyllum husk I would normally use.....made super chewy and moist bread, not dry chewy I wanted but a doughy soft chewy...was interesting. Anyway this list and looking around should cheer you up a bit for some treats to get once in a while https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/topic/120402-gluten-free-food-alternative-list-2018-q1/
    • On the plus side, at least the doctor did test for deamidated gluten peptide. Most docs don’t do dGp. If your doc didn’t (as neither my doc nor my daughter’s doc did), you would be left in limbo.  So be thankful you have a diagnosis and a solution and get to a celiac savvy doctor for future monitoring.
    • Respected consumer advocacy group Public Citizen is calling for the FDA to ban the sale Benicar, due to the potential for side effects to which Public Citizen refers as "life-threatening." According to Public Citizen, olmesartans risks outweigh any benefits. Should Benicar be banned? View the full article
    • The thing is.  They didn't have to say anything about gluten free food.  They didn't have to put that mean-spirited dig in there at all.  They could have just showed the awesome thing for serving food.  People with food sensitivities would have just substituted gluten-free or peanut free food in their minds.  Just like anyone would have said - I hate cucumbers - so my party tray won't have that on it.
