Not Sure If Glutened Or A Virus

So the other day I started to feel a little sick i'm pretty sure everything was gluten free according to what we've found out...i've still been eating though yesterday i didn't get as much into me as the day before....

Here's the thing..and this might be gross...but we're all use to that here right? ;)

So the first night when i started feeling ill i felt a little nauseous but it felt more like i had overeaten. I was laying on my back and started to feel ill. The next day i had diarrhea...just really loose then turned to full blown liquid. I was still eating this day.

So then yesterday it seemed like the feces was starting to clump a bit more again so I figured i had a temporary issue of some kind and it was going away....but last night..i i had this sensation like i had to go...so i went and it felt more like passing gas but a small bit came out....when i looked into the toilet to see if anything was even there...there was this long piece of...well....jelly it almost looked like...mucus. Lots of it surrounding broken up very thin feces. It just...looked more like the mucus had some in it rather than the other way around except for one main piece that came out. But very full of mucus. Even when I was eating gluten i don't recall ever having that THAT bad....sometimes i'd get something but it always went away.

I've been very nervous since i saw this last night. I took pictures in case i ever feel the need to show it to the doctor. Has anyone had a freak thing like this happen? Is it possible i just have diarrhea and it was irritating my bowel so a lot of mucus formed?

I've also had a LOT of stress for the past week or so as a friendship of mine is going downhill and my nerves are shot because of it. I end up feeling tummy sick a lot while talking about it etc so I have a LOT of anxiety.

But my temperature elevated just a bit to 99.1 the main day i was having the diarrhea though that could be from needing water and dehydration I suppose because my temp was normal yesterday. I'm still hearing noises from my belly. I might have to go soon...very nervous i'm going to see more...there was a lot of mucus last night but not earlier in the day...

I can't tell if i have been gluetened or not...has anyone else just had a random bout with a lot of mucus only to be ok later? Is this normal?

That is exactly what happens to me when I am glutened. The mucus thing. It may be undigested fat and not mucus. Either way, it sounds like you were glutened. Do you have a problem with corn? I see this when corned as well.

Typically I don't have any issues with that. Since going gluten free my tummy aches seems to go away and i haven't really had any issues but... the day it started this is what i had

Jimmy Dean - Fully Cooked Original Pork Sausage Patties, Rice Chex, Horizon Organic milk (i've been drinking milk now for a while and i've been fine so i don't think it's that?), French Meadow Bakery Gluten Free Chocolate Cake, Field Day Organic Brown Rice Spaghetti Noodles, Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil, So Delicious Chocolate Coconut Milk ice cream, Udi's Gluten Free Multi Grain Bread, Smart Balance Peanut Butter, another glass of milk,

Next day Simply Spuds steamables red potatoes....more of some stuff from the day before....beanitos chips....tostitos baked scoops (which i've never had any issue with...), bruschetta we made at home..simply potatoes traditional mashed potatoes....watermelon....list just goes on and on...we made pizza the night this started with schar pizza crust and ingredients i'm quite sure are safe? I'm very very confused....i'm pretty sure there is no gluten in our kitchen =\ we haven't eaten out...

Added note..I've used the washroom again and it was clumped up a bit more. No mucus that I could tell. There also wasn't in my diarrhea...just what i had last night.

Krista, maybe you'll have to eat simply and lightly for a few days to see if you get back to normal again...like make a pot of chicken and rice soup or something that is very easy to digest???

We can all get wonky from time to time and for me personally, I usually cannot figure out why.

I don't know. I love them, too, but I guess I was thinking homemade. I especially like the Spring Onion.

Or could you cook some plain rice in chicken broth?

Krista, maybe you really are sick. I know we tend to want to try to find something to blame it on.

But then again, normally our temperatures fluctuate throughout the day. 98.6 is just an AVERAGE. If I'm not mistaken, 99.2 COULD just be normal for you at this time of day.

Just a note...it's unlikely it's milk if i've been drinking it again since june and felt fine right? I dunno if i have a dairy intolerance but it hadn't been bothering me so...and during the time i wasn't drinking milk i still had products MADE with milk ...and i was ok.

I agree christina, there is definitely many contributing factors! I have the pain today, my pelvis, hips and thighs ache! No idea why. But i have been sitting at work for 3 days so im thinking its my back. This disease is very mysterious (and frustrating) but not always to blame for every pain.

"her stool study showed she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that." The wording of this part of the sentence does not make any sense at all. I don't mean to insult you, but is English your first language? This part of the sentence sounds like it was generated by translation software.

What kind of stool test was done? Can you be more specific?
    • mishyj
Perhaps I should also have said that in addition to showing a very high response to gluten, her stool study showed that she had extreme reactions to everything achievement on it long course of microbials to treat that.

My daughter has celiac disease and has had for a long time. She fell loses strictly gluten-free diet and recently got rid of all cutting boards in any gluten in her house at all. She just had a stool test and it came back showing of gigantic response to gluten in her diet. What could be going on since she doesn't eat any gluten and is very careful about any kind of hidden glue? Help!
