I had a Gluten IgG test done and normal was considered < 2, I was 24.5; what exactly does this mean? Is it a gluten allergy or am I celiac or? I have tons of symptoms to say the least and after 5 years this is my first test I've tested positive other than knowing I have one of the celiac sprue genes as well. Thanks very much.

Can you tell us the name of the specific test? The whole celiac panel tests are geared toward testing for gluten sensitivity, and they are either IgA or IgG tests. It could have been an AGA test, a tTG test, or a DGP test. Any which way, however, if negative was considered to be less than 2, and your result was 24.5, that would seem to indicate a fairly positive test and should be followed up with additional testing.

It would appear that this was allergy testing rather than celiac testing. I am not aware of the significance of this result, sorry. :(
