  1. Did he ever have a Loading Dose ? Alternate days for a week, then weekly for 8 weeks, then monthly ? Perhaps he needs weekly shots. Some at the Pernicious Anaemia Society are still on weekly shots after 2 years for their PN symptoms. Whatever your body needs, and sounds like he hasn't had enough. The Medical books clearly state that B12 shots should be given...
  2. Have you read www.parathyroid.com I am being tested for this right now. I had a calcium test come back high. According to the parathyroid site it is NEVER normal to have a high calcium or high PTH. Even if the levels changes and comes down for one test.
  3. This is the data sheet. Open Original Shared Link See what the Dr says on Thursday. Perhaps Armour may suit you better ???
  4. PN is also a symptom of low B12 which can be associated with Celiac. After my B12 shots my PN gets better within an hour, and returns when the next injection is due. The neuro symptoms of low B12 can start when your blood test gets below 400. Many Drs don't treat the deficiency until it falls below 200 or even 100 here in Australia. A normal B12 result is...
  5. An update to my B12 Story. I had gone too long between my B12 shots and all my pins and needles, wobbley legs ,blurred vision had returned. I have just had another B12 shot and they have disappeared almost immediately. Hope this is the answer for you Momma Goose cos B12 shots are an easy 'cure'.Last night I was on a walking stick - today I am almost brand...
  6. Have you had B12 tested ? And do you have the paperwork? The symptoms you describe sound like mine when B12 was low. The neuro damage can start and Drs don't even detect it , as they don't understand. A great book to read is Sally Pacholok , "Could It Be B12? An Epidemic of Misdiangoses". She also has forum happening and if you want to PM me I can send...
  7. Thankyou thankyou. I know this Dr is genuine and the site he has started is for all of us. He is a 4th generation Endo, and his great grandfather pioneered Armour back in 1890. My Dr has been to his conferences, has his books, uses his ideals. I know that over 700 Drs around the world have now joined in this as well. Its a wonderful idea. There is a free...
  8. Many Drs don't understand thyroid disease either as their training is flawed and influenced by drug companies. Its never normal to have a Goitre. Is it getting bigger ? My Goitre and nodules have disappeared on Armour Thyroid. You might want to ask your Dr for a trial of Armour to see if that helps. Sounds like your Dr is obssessed with blood tests and is...
  9. Bingo! This is it! And onto my soapbox now but do you think you could sign a International Petition to say this ? There is a Dr in UK that has lost his license for doing just as you said. His Trial starts July2. The petition ( which is independent of this Dr - BTW ) is a great way to help him. So many Drs are scared to treat patients like this as they are...
  10. Deb - sounds like that Dr is not suitable for you....
  11. Keep trying Jessica, Sooner or later you will find a good Dr. I gave up many times in my 30 years of sickness - as every Dr I saw refused to believe me. Its only after I could no longer swallow food, and that I read stopthethyroidmadness - did I realise that more than 10 Drs, 2 Endos had all been WRONG ! I then went to 3 more Drs last year and on the 3rd...
  12. Have you signed the Petitions yet ? If you google search International Hormone Society you should find it. A UK Dr needs our help before July 2 when his court case starts. Would you believe the 'authorities' have taken his license away for doing correct Thyroid treatment ??? The authorities would rather have us stay sick then get well ??? Huh ?
  13. TSH looks a bit high. Good Thyroid Drs start to become suspicious of HypoThyroid when TSH is greater than 2 , and you are near to that. I notice your lab is using the old range. Have you read about the TSH Wars and the new ranges ? Open Original Shared Link FT4 is a bit low. What was the Free T3 or wasn't that tested Were Thyroid Antibodies tested...

    ARCHIVED Tbtests

You mean that isn't normal ? I had the tb jab when at school and seem to remember that reaction and I thought it was normal to react like that. Does that mean I had Celiac then ? Is there something in the tb jab that has gluten?
  15. Yes ! 90 isn't a good number but what I am seeing is an erratic BP. And that screams 'adrenal' or 'HypoPituitary' to me. Try googling Schmidt's Syndrome ..... Also called Polyendocrine or Polyglandular Autoimmine Syndrome. I can't help a lot sorry as I am just researching this myself right now. I think you already know the answer to this...

    ARCHIVED Thyroid

Yes ! Well - at least it did for me. I started on Armour and got to 4 grains before being dx with Celiac a few months later. I started the gluten-free diet. Within months my blood tests showed high Thyroid readings and I had to reduce. I am now on 2 grains of Armour only - and fine ! ( my Dr refuses to use Synthroid - she has Hashimotos Thyroid herself...
  17. Me too ! This is where I get a bit puzzled. You state this at the beginning of the thread. But you had HypoThyroid in 2000 with high Thyroid Antibodies. Have you had no Thyroid meds for that ? How low is your B12. Is it being treated ? The symptoms you describe could all relate to B12 and Thyroid. Blood sugar ...well....its something to watch...
  18. People with Pernicious Anaemia ( low B12) get a yellowish colour skin. I have now, and we have talked about it at other sites. Low B12 can be caused by a few things and an autoimmune disease is one ( PA) or another is absorption problems ( Celiac for eg). Its possible that you are absorbing B12 more efficiently now you are gluten-free, and you are not as...
  19. I would have thought this reaction sounds unlikely to be caused by Armour. This is a list of ingredients. Open Original Shared Link Did you have Forest brand Armour, or a generic brand ? If you continue to have symptoms see your Dr. A T4/ T3 combo ( synthetic) may suit you better.
  20. Kat, Have you heard of Polyglandular Autoimmune Syndrome ? Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link A Dr reading another Forum alerted me to the fact that I may have it. I do not have Diabetes but have Hashimotos Thyroid, Pernicious Anaemia, Celiac and Vitiligo - all dx last year. My Dr is watching me closely for Diabetes and other autoimmune...
  21. Mine were the TPO Antibodies for Thyroid but there are others. Open Original Shared Link Has your Dr tested you ? Mine didn't .....for 30 years all they did was the TSH test. And as that was normal they did no further testing ..... When you have an Autoimmune disease of the Thyroid - the TSH can be normal, or can fluctuate. And some of the other tests...
  22. Deb, That sounds like autoimmune Thyroiditis to me! Hashimotos is one. I was dx with Antibodies of 34 - my Dr says ANY increased Antibody activity is dx of Hashis. Trace amounts of Antibodies ( 2 or 3 ) may be OK but >20 is VERY suspicious. Have you had an Ultrasound ? I was searching last night on a medical site , and they ALL talked of Antibody activity...
  23. That's 3 years ago ........... huh ??? I don't know but if it were me I would be the most paranoid patient they had and would demand further testing. Its your body and you have certain rights .... If you want good advise the yahoo Pituitary Group is good. They could help you heaps. Open Original Shared Link I know they have helped me work out...
  24. Sorry Deb, You will just have to try another Dr. I have had 30 years of Drs like you had, and I agree its so upsetting. That is why I gave up for a while and suffered in silence. But - don't do that. Seek and find another Dr. There are good ones out there. Most people I have spoken with say that Endos are simply the worst - so stay clear of them. Try...
  25. I am planning a trip to Italy & France next year. What do you eat for breakfast at a small Hotel / B & B ? And lunch? What are the choices available ? Do the foods from the pharmacy need heating/cooking ? What happens if you don't have cooking facilities in your room ?
