ARCHIVED How Long Does It Take To See Improvement
georgie replied to Nic's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I think I noticed an improvement within a week or 2. I was trialling DF, and after 3 weeks ate some dairy and got incredible stomach pains 2 days later ( for 2 days ) which sort of confirmed it. The improvement by going DF was more subtle for me than going gluten-free - just seemed to feel more energy and less brain fog/ moods. -

You know when you bake a cake and then use a skewer to test if its baked or not. Does that work if the cake is gluten-free? Does the cake mix still adhere to the skewer if its not 'ready'?

I found I was so much healthier being Dairy Free that I didn't mind missing out. We make icecream from coconut cream and its great! And now I can have a little goats milk cheese and I don't seem to react as much.

ARCHIVED Hypothyroid And High Triglycerides?
georgie replied to nikki-uk's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My cholesterol has come down 0.9 to normal after a few months of Armour. Same story with my husband. I have heard that Armour was used to lower cholesterol in the 1950s - if you went to see a Dr and had high cholesterol they trialled Armour on you. Sounds like you need a good Dr to dx your husband. It sounds a lot like HypoThyroid to me.Have you read www... -
My husband is going through this now. He is not Celiac but we believe HypoPit. He is taking Armour and HydroCortisone and after 10 months is only a bit better. He gets terrible temp swings of hot and cold , can't perspire, fatigue, low in all hormones including DHEA, Testosterone etc. His next testing is to test for Pit Tumours. 20% of people have Pit Tumours...

I removed dairy completely from my diet and have felt so much better that I am not tempted to add it back. I did eat a huge chocolate easter bunny and get a reaction - and this has convinced me ! But - since then have had small amounts of hard goats milk cheese without a reaction. My next trial is to try pure Jersey Milk - and see if that is OK. Apart from...

ARCHIVED B12 Shots
georgie replied to nama shivaya's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I was dx with low B12 last year and then Pernicious Anaemia. I needed weekly jabs, then 2 weekly , now 3 weekly. I was using Hydroxo but switched to Methylcobalamin and can say they are MUCH better!!! You can feel it working immediately and feel so much energy. And it seems that many are using methyl jabs to help mercury toxicity. Open Original Shared... -

Thanks for bumping this up Paula. I have noted that now I am gluten-free - that I need HALF the Armour Thyroid that I was taking before. I was taking 240mg Armour previously for about 5 months, then after going gluten-free my T3 blood tests went high and my Dr wanted me to take less. I did, went dairy free as well , and am happily chirping along... -

Another good reason to stay away from wheat! You don't know where its come from. What's wrong with American wheat or even Australian wheat that we know is safe ! I try to feed my dog as little commercial food as possible. You just don't know what's in it. My thoughts are with those people that lost their beloved pets.

My blood test was negative but my Dr insisted I do the Gluten Challenge Diet - and - bingo - DEFINATELY Gluten Intolerant. 8 months later can say that I think I have Celiac. I had a rash that disappeared after going gluten-free. I react to a TRACE of Gluten for days...... I have to eat gluten-free - I am not fussed that I never had an endoscopy. I am happy...

Its a base of white sauce with butter, milk and flour..... I know ...Hubbie has patiently cleaned up the kitchen and tried to decontaminate it. Its taken him ages.
