Rachel, Did you have Graves Disease or Hashimotos Disease? I know that many Drs get them mixed up. Sometimes they can appear similar. Did you have adrenals tested before starting Armour? What does a dairying feel like ? I had icecream tonight, and have had this incred pain for hours. I can't sleep. It feels like a hot poker iron is in my stomach. I have gas, and nausea. I have had pain before but never this bad. Its scary.

I have been to a couple of proper restaurants after going gluten-free, and can say that a good chef can do a brilliant meal WITHOUT gluten. You just have to ask. And Italian restaurants seem even easier. I think that Celiac is very recognised there, and they know so much more. Thats great news. Was it nice with the chilli ? I do mail orders with that shop. They have drinking chocolate powder so may carry my own to cafes in the future I am about to go dairy free for a trial and am dreading it - so glad that you thought the choc was OK ( as I see you are dairy free too) -

I love risottos as my throat is still constricted by my enlarged Thyroid. Hubbie does them. He uses his own chicken stock, and you simmer the rice in that slowly and keep adding more until its right - so you need to stand over it abit and keep stirring and adding stock.Then you just add meat , veges as you like. Yes, its an oily D3 made up by a compounding chemist. Vit D seems to be so important. The Dr is even treating my husbands Type 2 Diabetes ( just dx) with it - and not Diabetes meds. Low levels are also linked to breast & prostate cancers.

My Dr likes mine kept as near to 0 as possible as I have autoimmune Thyroid - Hashimotos- and you need the TSH suppressed to suppress the Antibodies attacking your Thyroid. My TSH at the moment is 0.01. Doesn't your Dr test anything else but TSH ? Thats a bit naughty. Tests for Thyroid should be Free T4, Free T3 ( to check the T level in your blood ) , and... -
That is very wrong for a Dr to say that. I had HEAPS of ultrasounds and it missed my extremely severe Endo completely. The Lap op was a breeze- just in overnight as I live so far from the hospital. It was a trendy cafe. I asked if their risotto was gluten-free and they told me rice had Gluten so I don't have much confidence now in the coffee ! I had my risotto at a proper Italian restuarant just down the road, and ALL their risottos are made fresh and are gluten-free. tip - eat Italian. You are not made to feel a nuisance. If you don't feel well depsite Synthroid - go back. There is another Thyroid med available and many find it works better for them. Armour. I second this, e&j0304,just keep fighting. Your DD is HypoThyroid. If its autoimmune those TSH levels will change all the time. That's how it looks. -
I am low in Vit D and high in Calcium. Dr is watching and will supp Vit D and recheck Calcium. Parathyroid was mentioned. It doesn't make sense for me to be low in Vit D here in Australia, but Dr said many people are now. I am using a D3 liquid 1 x month.

I asked my Dr what was the difference between GI and Celiac and she held her hand up and indicated a gap of 1mm! I think I have Celiac but as a Gastro hasn't dx me - I can't officially be called that ! Not here anyway. Our state has a Society you can join but you need a letter from a Gastro Dr before you can. They do not recognise the Gluten Challenge Diet... -

Yes. That's it. Raise when you feel symptoms return. And when you get to 2 or 3 grains - slow down, and by this time you will need adrenals working. I tried Isocort for my adrenal fatigue, then cortisone acetate but hydrocortisone is the best for me. Healthy adrenals produce about 40 - 50 mg a day and I am on about 20mg which felt about right for me and stabilised...
