Get to a Dr or ER immediately. That could be a clot you are describing. The veins popping out bit - makes me 2x as worried. Don't delay - seek medical help. You need an ultrasound and a D Dimer blood test.

The first and most comfortable was that type - and loved it to death. It was made by a Prof and he has now retired. Long time ago. Eventually it wore out - and my local dentist made a night time only one that was terrible and I couldn't wear. The dentist I see now made another as an emerg as one of my back molars had a pocket gum infection and this was a...

That good news ! Wish it was for me ! Your sinus and foggy thinking could be caused by your hypo. How borderline is it ? Have you had all the tests and is your lab and Dr aware of the new ranges ? I have worn splints in the past and they didn't do a lot for me. The teeth are bad - and nothing can correct that now. They grew too 'short' and don't...

This is another area that I need explained. Over the years I have had many repairs to these huge amalgams - but never any special precautions. Why is removing mercury amalgams different to a patch job? Its not so much the fear of the dentist. Its a physical diffculty of opening my jaw. I have TMJ problems and can barely open my jaw at the dentists. The...

Do all people get problems from mercury? Its just hard to work out if to believe...My 85 yo mother has a mouth full of amalgams and is fitter than people of 60. I doubt if the fillings could be removed from mine anyway - it would mean losing most of my back teeth which seems extreme when I don't have a test that can prove this.
-
I will be interested to hear how you go. My Dr told me the same as you and did a hair analysis. But that came back as normal so she tried to tell me I still need all my fillings removed anyway. I hate the dentist and it would nearly kill me to do this - so have not yet. Meanwhile my Armour thyroid meds have got to their correct dose after 6 months and I feel...

ARCHIVED Who Has Thyroid Issues
georgie replied to cause&effect's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Deb, I'm not a Dr but that TSH looks a bit high. Its only .03 away from 2, and my Dr treats all TSH> 2 as HypoThyroid. But I notice that Thyroid Antibodies haven't been tested. You need Thyroid Antibodies tested - cos if you have those you have autoimmune Thyroid, and all the other labs get changed by that. Once you have autoimmune thyroid - that overrules... -
Cathy, I suspected so. Many of the symptoms you describe are very common for people that take Synthroid ( or the Levothyroid). Armour is so much better for treating every Hypo symptom but you do need adrenal function checked and treated if necessary. Saliva testing is good - as it gives 4 readings over the day. www.canaryclub.com has the tests and you can...

Just popping to wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year. 2006 was the year where I solved many of my medical mysteries. Hope that 2007 does the same for you. Thyroid was my big discovery this year, and just a reminder for folks about to get tested - make sure that Free T3, Free T4 and Antibodies are tested and get the paperwork. TSH is virtually... -
Sea Salt is also a treatment for adrenal fatigue - a modern problem that isn't often dx. So its interesting to see it helping other things as well. Erratic temps on the low side can be adrenal and /or Thyroid Adrenal as well. So its interesting to see it helps Lymes people too. Perhaps Lymes people have adrenal fatigue as well ? Just thinking out loud here
-
Cathy, Another thing that can cause all over pain is Hypothyroid and I notice you have been dx with that. Do you take Synthroid ? Its just that Fibromyalgia is a symptom of Hypo often, and I am reading all the time that people that switch from Synthroid to Armour and check their adrenal function, and take meds for that if necssary .... get so much better...
-
I would go to your Dr and ask for Thyroid tests, Iron, Ferritin, B12. When you get thyroid tested make sure its not just TSH but all the tests for Thyroid like Free T3, and Free T4 and particularly Antibodies. Your Dr may try to argue with you that they are not necessary as the TSH is enough, but believe me - you can have a normal TSH and still be VERY Hypo...

ARCHIVED New And Looking For Feedback
georgie replied to outOfThisWorld's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hypo can cause heat AND cold intolerance. On the other list at the moment there is a big talk about this and many seem to suffer the heat more than the cold. Until you can get all the blood tests done you are still guessing - so no need to plan Armour yet. But spend this time to read all the info and be prepared so when you see the Dr you can ask more. ... -
ARCHIVED New And Looking For Feedback
georgie replied to outOfThisWorld's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hopefully this will help . These are all Drs that are more naturopathic in style. Some use Armour ( called Thyroid USP in Aust) or some use T3 ( the active 'energy' T hormone). Most people say Armour works better. I know it did for me. Open Original Shared Link And these are compounding chemists Open Original Shared Link I have a friend who has... -
ARCHIVED New And Looking For Feedback
georgie replied to outOfThisWorld's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes - that is right. And get the paperwork as well as sometimes Drs miss the borderline readings. They are all covered by Medicare. I know of a good Dr in Melbourne that a friend is seeing. He has been to Hertoghe conferences . Hertoghe's great grandfather pioneered Thyroid treatment with natural dessicated thyroid late in the 1800s in Europe. I will get... -
ARCHIVED New And Looking For Feedback
georgie replied to outOfThisWorld's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Marcus, I am from Aust too ! I was wondering about your Thyroid cos you have so many of the Thyroid symptoms like me.Your Dr hasn't done all the tests for Thyroid. You also need FREE T3 tested which shows how much active T hormone you have. T3 is the energy T hormone. And you need ANTIBODIES tested as that will show if you have an Autoimmune... -

That's great news Nicole. I hope this Dr can help you further or perhaps she has a collegue that is on your insurance plan. Fingers crossed ! -
But do you take Synthroid ? Synthroid does that - gets your blood tests looking normal but keeps a lot of the Hypo symptoms. A good Dr treats Thyroid by symptoms as well as labs. Lots of people on the thyroid lists have weight problems on Synthroid.

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
georgie replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
She has started the antibiotics so her Dr sounded as though he knew what he was doing. I was wondering if there is a special type of antibiotic for Lyme ? And how long. Is 3 weeks the norm? I was wondering if she did the Vit C and salt thing after she comes off the antibiotics - if that would help as well ? How do you know if your Dr is a good Lyme Dr or... -

georgie replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Just popping in...Have to bake a gluten-free choc cake for guests tomorrow... I heard from a friend over Xmas. She was bitten by a tick and has the rash and Dr thinks she has Lymes. What can I tell her to make sure she gets the right treatment. What lab is best/ What antibiotic is best. How long does she need the antibiotics if she was only bitten 3 days... -
ARCHIVED Thyroid Experts - I Need Your Advice! Help
georgie replied to mamaw's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I can only comment from my own experience and from bits that I have read since - but there is a resounding opinion from all my lists that nuking is a last resort option. You said you had to stop t3 as you went hyper ... that can happen with synthetic meds easily. It did to me and my hubbie. We couldn't get the right dose. Once we went to Armour we have felt... -

Nic, Sleep apnoea is often a Hypo symptom. Do a google search... Second opinions are always good. Be your own advocate. Do your research. Its sad but true that it is necessary to do this. -
