Which one ? Are they FREE T3 and T4 ? Do you have the lab ranges ?Most people feel best when the Free T4 is mid range and the Free T3 is sitting at high normal or above normal. Antibodies should be crushed to 0 - so you need to work on that more. Before you get upset lets see the results. Sometimes you need a fine tooth comb to sort through them. It...

My rash appeared this year and Dr said it was excema. It was in exactly the same spot on each leg which I thought was weird. It would itch and itch and had red dots and a thick area of skin. I didn't think of DH at all - hadn't heard of it - and then when I read more I started to wonder. Anyway after 6 months gluten-free - the rash has gone ! The skin...

ARCHIVED Tmj, Ear, Nose And Throat, And Thyroid?
georgie replied to Ksmith's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Jerseyangel, Donna, You both need the correct testing for Thyroid. Particularly Thyroid Antibodies which show if you have an Autoimmune Thyroiditis - Hashimotos. Once you have one autoimmune disease ( eg celiac) you are at risk of having others. Testing TSH alone won't show that problem all the time. And FREE T4 and FREE T3 show a lot too. Both results should... -
ARCHIVED Tmj, Ear, Nose And Throat, And Thyroid?
georgie replied to Ksmith's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I think they are linked. I have had TMJ problems as long as I remember, and Hypothyroid. I often used to get sinus infections beore Hypo was treated this year. Have you tried a Google search ? -
Low Sodium, or a Sodium / Potassium imbalance can be caused by a few things. Did your Dr run some tests ? Thyroid people can get low sodium, and it can be a sign of Hypopituitarism and Hypoaldosteronism. Some of your tests should have been for low alderosterone ,and adrenal fatigue. Aldosterone is a steroid secreted by the cortex of the adrenal gland...

One Iodine test I have heard of that is a bit of a laymans test but can tell a bit - is to paint iodine on your arm - and see how long it takes to disappear. The theory is that if you are deficient you soak it up faster You may like to research Iodoral Tablets. Open Original Shared Link I am not sure who can order the iodine test for you. My Dr did... -

Is Cuming near you ? A Dr is on the Good Drs List from there. Depending on your tests you maynot need Armour, but its nice to have a Dr that gives the choice. Iodine is another area that you may want to research. Many areas of the world now are iodine deficient and iodized salt, and Kelp tabelts don't come close if you are deficient. There are urine tests... -

Yikes. A nodule isn't normal .... And you have never had an Antibodies test ? OMG Are you able to see another Dr cos it sounds like this one hasn't been taking good care of you. Armour meds are the best way to suppress Antibody attacks ( and nodules ). Watch that nodule. Without meds they sometimes can grow - often rapidly - and turn nasty. -

There are about 80 autoimmune diseases and they are often linked. I have 4 - Celiac, Hashimotos Thyroid, Pernicious Anaemia & Vitiligo. Have heard of others that have R Arthritis in the family, or Diabetes Type 1 for eg, and then they get Thyroid Antibodies. There are 2 types of autoimmune thyroid that can make you go hyper that I know of. One is... -

Don't you get tired of Drs that don't know what they are doing and keep repeating tests - when they could have done them all at the first appt. Make sure that T3 test is FREE T3, and that Antibodies were tested. If you are low on cortisol you will need HC supps as well as Armour. -

I wouldn't be surprised. Is there a family history of Autoimmune Hypothyroidism in your family. Its genetic. But soy must never be given to babies and for adults it must be used in moderation. Its a goitronous food.... Since the late 1950's, it has been known that soy formulas contain anti-thyroid agents. Infants on soy formula are particularly vulnerable... -

I don't know about the science bit but know this much. Pig thyroid is vey similar to own own. In the early days of heart ops they often used pig's valves. The biochemistry is very similar. The ratio of T4 to T3 in Armour is approx 4 to 1. 36mcg & 9 mcg ??? seems to ring a memory chord. The problem with T4 only meds is that not everyone can convert... -

Its a synthetic med that only gives you T4. Armour is a natural med containing the closest set of T hormones to what we make ourselves. T1, T2, T3, T4 and its also got calcitonin to prevent Osteoporous and some say reverse it. If you had Armour at the beginning of your Goitre trouble you could probably have avoided all your subsequent problems and surgery... -
I sometimes have to log in 3x when I try to post. I write the text, try to post - and it says log in. So go back and do that. Save my text. Then redo it, and try to post and then it says 'log in'. Just a while ago I did it 3x

So my Dr wasn't talking rubbish ? She has been good at everything else so guess I should trust her on this but always am suspicious of long term therapies. This chelation sounds a nightmare ! What happens if you start and find that your liver can't cope ? I know my Thyroid isn't working properly and that a major detox organ as well. Yikes. And ...can anyone... -

hmmm. Maybe ? Dentists say the mercury is inert and prefectly safe. So even bits chipped off and swallowed don't do a lot. But ...you wonder. Especially for you as you have had a removal procedure that doesn't sound safe. I have got a MOUTHFUL of amalgams. Dr wants them out. She is a good Doc.... Just so scared ... Its the pain of it all. My TMJ is trashed... -

Did you have a test that showed high mercury ? What made you do it ? I am sooo scared of the dentist. I know that having 14 amalgans can't be good but when Dr did a hair analysis - it was OK. So .... without proof - I am scared. -

I have this now. I am 47, was vaccinated as a kid but now hear that you need boosters as adults. Not sure if I would or not - but this cough has been 3 weeks, and have been missing sleep, and choking with it. You cough until you vomit, and then start to choke on that. Poor babies ...... I had the chicken pox vaccine at 40. I was TTC and had an antibodies... -

Good luck ! You can be made to feel a hypohondriac by some Drs - so research well, and be forewarned. Its sad that such a good system of patient care that was actively used for 50 years, has been lost by a whole generation of Drs. It can take a long time to titrate the Armour dose, the HC dose ( if needed), and heal. 12 months perhaps. I am 6 months into... -

Ursula, If you go down the HC road make sure you actually take the right type ( hydro cortsisone is a close match to our own and is more 'bio identical' ), and take enough. STTM is finding a lot of fear re HC and its based on the old Prednisolone days. Pred is 5 x stronger than HC. The best way to heal adrenals is to take 'enough' as a dose too small may... -

That cetainly still sounds adrenal , with Hypo of course. Have you thought of using a med for adrenal fatigue instead of herbal ? Lots of good reports from using HC in a theraputic dose ( not replacement dose) to heal the adrenals. "Safe Uses of Cortisol" Dr Jeffries. That is titrated too - to eliminate symptoms - just like Armour. You know your dose is correct...
