In which way? I am new to this. Can a crumb really have that effect?

What age were you diagnosed with celiac's/gluten intolerance? 47 What were your most common symptoms? I wasn't aware of any, although I had always avoided bread products as they gave me bloating. What are your symptoms when you eat gluten now? cramping pain, fatigue, diarrohea Do you consider yourself more sensitive to gluten now that you try...

ARCHIVED ***what Problems Did You Have After Having Mono?****
georgie replied to azmom3's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Azmom3, Most Drs only do TSH test. But you need Antibodies for Thyroid tested. The Free T3, and Free T4 would be handy too. And be aware that about 10% of people get a false negative to the Thyroid Antibody test. Obesity can be a symptom. Sometimes the symptoms are mild and just feel like a sort of brain fog, and perpetual tiredness. You certainly don't... -
Infertility can be caused by low Thyroid too - so you may want to check that out with your Dr. Make sure you get Antibodies tested. Hashimotos Thyroid is an autoimmune disease like Celiac and often they co exist.

Tiffany has good advise and that is what worked for me too. A balance of protein, carbs and fat at every small mini meal and eat before you get hungry . 'The Insulin Resistance Diet' by Drs Hart & Grossman was my bible. However, should also add that since having Thyroid dx and receiving Armour - my hypoglycemia is much better. My blood tests for Thyroid...

ARCHIVED Recovery From Neurological Problems
georgie replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes. That is sort of OK. Nearer 800 would be better but you shouldn't being experiencing neuro symptoms at 570. Mine was 148 when dx. That's probably one idea you can scratch off your list. -

Curious, Just checking - you have had B12 levels checked ? Its just that I have PN and its improving heaps with B12. I was extremely low in B12 and it could be Pernicous Anaemia. But for the 15 years I have had the PN - no Dr has ever tested me for B12 before this year. My Auntie had symptoms very similar to yours. She was told it was Parkisnons but wasn... -

Time for a new Doc Armour, Iodine, check for adrenal fatigue, take temp , make temp graphs, check Ferritin, b12 , celiac Read stopthethyroidmadness for mistakes patients make re dosing Armour. Do the adrenal self test - its fairly accurate. Temps. There are Docs that will do this. You just have to find them

ARCHIVED Confirmed Glaucoma Diagnosis Today
georgie replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
No. They are watching me closely and after the last test he said he could see no damage. I haven't had a field of vison test. Do you think I should still ? My pressure is normal now, and the specialist looked at my eye and could see no damage of optic nerve. I didn't really think my eye pressure change info would help you - but its always a posibilty... -
You haven't seen me before my morning coffee

Fiddle-Faddle - You are one of the lucky ones. TSH can vary so much from day to day , month to month that very often a dx is missed 'cos of that. Also you can have secondary Hypo where the TSH doesn't move at all. The test 'can' work ...but it also very often doesn't. The test throws too many false negatives. Also the lab ranges are set too high, or are being...

Rusla, Lots of people don't do well on Synthroid and need natural Armour. Try www.stopthethyroidmadness.com for info re that. I take Armour myself and its absolutely magic. But you do need a Dr that understands how to dose it. Re your B12. You may need another blood test to determine levels. I found the sublinguals only work a little and still need...

ARCHIVED What Does A Glutening Feel Like ?
georgie replied to georgie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It was only a small amount of flour but am surprised by my mild reaction. Don't worry - not planning to try again ! Can still remember my severe reaction 2 months ago. But hopeful that perhaps some minor healing has happened. That I only have GI. -
ARCHIVED ***what Problems Did You Have After Having Mono?****
georgie replied to azmom3's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Azmom3, I remembered you from the other Thyroid thread. Is there a history of autoimmune Thyroid in your family ? Hashis Thyroid is genetic. And repeated infections and fatigue etc - 'can' be a Hypo symptom. I had mono too when 21. But it was my poor Thyroid function that kept me ill with 'CFS' for the next 25 years. All those years I blamed the mono when... -
ARCHIVED Confirmed Glaucoma Diagnosis Today
georgie replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
AutumnE , This may be totally unrelated to your situation but is what happened to me. I had a very high reading and had to be rechecked for damage. And checked again. During this time my Dr found I was HypoThyroid with an autoimmune disease and started me on natural Thyroid meds. By the time I went back for 3rd eye check - my pressure was completely normal... -
Oh yes ! Armour cured it for me. All based on a Dr that worked with traditional methods like temp charts, and borderline results in blood tests. Good luck!
-
azmom3, I am not Ursula but - yes - you definately sound Hypo Thyroid. Many Drs don't have a clue when it comes to dx Thyroid. Low Temps are a strong indicator. Basal temp is the temp you take before you get out of bed.Any good thermometer will work. Your Dr needs to test TSH, free T3, free T4, and Antibodies for Hashimotos. A good site to check all the info...

ARCHIVED Overweight Before I Was Diagnosed. Has Anyone Lost Weight Since Going Gluten Free?
georgie replied to jacklyn1981's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Ehrin, I noticed your post and reference to hyperthyroid. To answer your confusion - some Thyroid complaints swing from hyper to hypo as your Thyroid is attacked by antibodies - it dies./ If you have Thyroid issues you won't lose weight. Pop over to 'Related Disorders' and topic of Temp Charts. Or PM me. -
I thought I would try some dessert last night. You know ...friends around... just alittle bit ... Well - no instant pain - so thought I was OK and perhaps only Gluten Intolerent and healing ... Today - 12 hours later have stomach pain ( mild ) and mild Diarrohea. Have I been Glutened ? I mean. Does it get worse than this and do some of you folks actually...

ARCHIVED Horrible Biopsy Experience
georgie replied to wonkabar's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Sorry Kristy that you had to have that experience. I always thought it would be a good idea for Drs to have a feedback system like ebay where you could leave public comments about them ! -
Ursula, Your Dr is WRONG. Sorry. The new range has been changed lower and is even under review again. Our Dr knows this and MANY others. You just need to find a Dr that understands this. My Dr treats all patients with TSH > 2 as Hypo. Good luck ! Better late than never. I was posting similar info to the Fibro and CFS group and got booted off ...
