  1. I've heard of this. Trying to think where. Is it Thyroid or Pernicious Anaemia?? Spoon fingernails. Just found this. Open Original Shared Link Noticed your signature. What do you take for Hashis & PA ?
  2. You can still have Antibodies but they should be kept as low as possible. Synthetic meds like Synthroid don't do a very good job so if Dr has only ever used Synthroid he thinks that high Antibodies whilst on Thyroid meds like Synthroid are normal. Probably has been told that by a drug company. My Antibodies are 0 at the moment on Armour. I still have Hashis...
  3. Fiddle faddle, The idea is to suppress the Antibodies that are attacking your Thyroid (and killing it). The Thyroid meds do that and 1000s have found that they did badly on Synthetics and when they made the switch - better on Armour. Antibodies are not normal. Its an Autoimmune attack. When you have Hashis you need a TSH near 0. Re actual Thyroid hormone...
  4. Tiffany, These labs are so sad I could cry. YES - you are Hypo. Do you realise you have never been tested for Hashimotos Thyroid ? That is the autoimmune one - and highly suspected for you because a) you have Celiac (otherwise you wouldn't be on this forum) and b ) your labs are bouncing around up and down. TSH >2 is considered Hypo these days.... You...
  5. Deb, I have severe neuro symtoms with my low B12 and still seem to need weekly jabs. I tried going to monthly jabs but very ill again with extreme tiredness, breathlessness and nerve zaps in my feet. My B12 level was 148 when dx. this year. I am taking sublinguals but don't think they are working. So far I have had 13 weeks of weekly jabs and am sick of it...
  6. Tiffany, I can help with your test results if you have them. Post the ranges too. Save your money. Endos are the WORST for treating thyroid. Ring your chemist for a Dr that is using Armour in your area. Even a good Naturopath like Ursula has, and they may help you find a good dr. Pernicious Anaemia is autoimmune like Celiac and Hashis Thyroid and Vitiligo...
  7. Tiffany, Get copies of your tests. The tests should have been TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and 2 types of Antibodies.Get your results in print. Also get Ferritin, Iron and B12 checked. Read stopthethyroidmadness for more info. If you get a bit confused by all the info - post a question to their forums. Janie and the team have helped 1000s over the years regain...
  8. Tiffany, I know its unbelievable bad luck but keep trying. Sounds like you have Hashis and that causes your blood tests to go up and down and can be confusing to a Dr that hasn't done his homework. With Hashis you need blood tests for Antibodies. And even then 10% of people don't show the antibodies. The Antibodies will kill your Thyroid over time - that...
  9. Fiddle faddle - Not crazy. Your Dr is - for not doing his own research and training post grad. Endos are often the worst for treating Thyroid. A natural approach often works better than Synthroid. I take Armour and 1000s of others like me do. We all find it much superior. PM me if you like. What you have to understand is that Synthroid is synthetic and...
  10. Ursula, This is almost mainstream medicine with my Dr and his associates. Do some research on Iodine. Amazing. And may prevent breast and ovarian cancers too. Lots of reasons including chronic infections. But something that may interest you is that Hashimotos Thyroid swings between hypo and hyper as the Thyroid gets attacked by Antibodies and dies...
  11. . And to think I almost didn't go, because he's got a bad picture of himself in his website!
  12. Excellent news Ursula ! Are you taking the basal temp as well ? The basal temp is for Thyroid and the day temps ( averaged) show adrenal. Low but stable indicates Thyroid only. Low and unstable indicates Thyroid and Adrenal. If natural adrenal support doesn't work you may have to consider HC. Have you read 'Safe Uses of Cortisol' by Dr Jeffries. Have you...
  13. Has anyone tried this yet? It looks yummy !
  14. Thanks Tracey, That was going to be my next question I am low in B12 and its probably Pernicious Anaemia which is also Autoimmune like my Thyroid. But no one has mentioned B6 testing. Do I just assume I am low in all vitamins and supp anyway? I am low in Vit D. My b12 shots are only lasting a week before symptoms return. Its been 12 weeks of weekly...
  15. I guess a part of me still wants to have 'it' labelled. My family think its all in my mind and without proof - its hard to explain. I am 47 and have just had this happen. Could I have had Celiac all my life and not known about it ? I have been dx with Thyroid and low B12 this year and also GI. But I wouldn't have the biopsy now. No way could I go back to...
  16. This is more a rich dessert cake but made it last week and it was yummy. Could experiment by adding liquer flavours too. Decadent Chocolate Truffle Cake serves 12 can be made 4 days ahead 1/2 cup ( 125ml) water 1 cup (220g) castor sugar 500g gluten-free chocolate 325g butter 7 eggs cocoa or icing sugar to dust berries, thick cream for serving...
  17. My blood test for Celiac is negative but I reacted to the Gluten Diet Challenge. Twice in the last 2 months since going gluten-free, I have eaten Gluten accidentally and have been ill with fatigue and stomach pains. My Dr says I don't have Celiac. But now - I am confused. Do I ?
  18. Angelina, From memory I think I started at 2 pellets and soon went to 4. Then a week later was up to 8. But for me - they didn't do a lot and needed stronger HC. Working out your best dose takes a bit of instinct. If your temps are low but steady it means your adrenals are strong. But if you have low and unstable temps it means you have both Thyroid and Adrenal...
  19. I did almost that length once and it is fun but is a long drive. Will you have a co driver? Rest often and walk to avoid blood clots and falling asleep at the wheel. Take lots of CDs and sing along. Have fun!
  20. You will battle to do that long drive by New Year. Its a LOOONNNGG drive. Why not fly ? My road map says about 3000 miles from Melb to Barrier Reef ....
  21. WOW ! What amazing info. I was thinking of taking a trip to Italy next year and now that I have found I am GI - was getting stressed. And those cards are the most brilliant idea ! Are the people happy to do gluten-free mostly - or is it a nuisance ?
  22. Is there ? I have had pneumonia 3x. First was when I was 11. Always a viral type that wiped me out for weeks.
  23. Thanks. Perhaps it was just the wine !
  24. Is Lindt 70% chocolate gluten free ? I made a cake last night with it, and seemed to get a reaction.
  25. Jolanta, I have Thyroid and Celiac. ( think its celiac). Some Drs don't have a clue re Hashis. With Hashis you alternate between hyper and hypo as your thyoid dies. You need Armour meds to suppress the Antibodies attacks.Synthetics don't work very well. My guess is that you have Hashis as that goes with Celiac a lot. I haven't had all the tests for Celiac...
