  1. I love my T3. I take 20mcg 2 x day and feel the best I have felt in ages. I started slowly with 10mcg and now just take 20mcg. I have started to lose weight that didn't budge with Armour or T4 meds. My eyes look like I have had eye lift surgery Years younger I noticed my ankles were less puffy as well yesterday... Love it , love it, love it !!...
  2. Lots of people like it - say it is like the old ( pre reformulation ) Armour of years ago. It even melts under the tongue like the old Armour which is great for any of us with bad absorption from Celiac. Have you seen the Facebook page re Save Natural Thyroid Open Original Shared Link
  3. Or this home made version two parts 40% gin two parts red vermouth one part orange Curacao This makes the "Cheat's Pimms" Then of course add either fizzy lemonade or ginger ale (usually about one of Pimms to three of mixer) or For one jug Half inch cointreau Two inches Martini Rosso One inch Martini Bianco One inch gin One inch cava One...
  4. I don't have a problem with it, and I am super sensitive. I did email the company and they say it is gluten-free. I did find an approximate recipe online ( the real recipe is a secret). Open Original Shared Link
  5. These Youtube videos show what celiac can do re neuro symptoms.... Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  6. No - the Stim Test did not show my adrenal problem. I needed the ITT but it was too dangerous for me to have it. Based on my other hormone deficiencies and how they looked - the dx of Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency was made. Some places call it Secondary Addisons. There is no cure. I am on cortisone for life. I also take Florinef to help the sodium balance...
  7. I have had a Stim Test and it was a breeze. It was the best I had felt in ages They take a blood test to check baseline numbers. Is ACTH , aldosterone and renin being tested ? Then they inject ACTH and wait 30 mins and take another blood test, and then another 30 mins later. If you have adrenal failure ie Primary Addisons - your levels don't rise...
  8. Myasthenia Gravis ? It is very hard to diagnose if you are one of the ones that has negative blood tests and EMGs. ie seronegative MG. Have you tried keeping a diary of when your muscles are weak, if they improve with rest etc. It is so hard to dx MG that many people can take years and have multiple Neuros. There are some new genetic tests coming out of...
  9. I discovered this recipe last year. Orange and Almond Cake. Love it and its even easier to make than this - I simply blend the orange segments, orange peel ( but not the bitter white part) in a food processor with all the other ingredients. Flourless Orange and Almond Cake is a classic Passover dessert drawing on the Sephardic traditions of Morocco, the...
  10. A bit late with my reply but ...there is always next year ! I saved this one for myself. Open Original Shared Link
  11. This is one book I would not be without. Open Original Shared Link Not only gluten-free and many are DF.... its also low GI and high protein...
  12. How about one of Elana's recipes? DF/gluten-free Chocolate Chip cookies. Open Original Shared Link
  13. A good web site for Pernicious Anemia is Open Original Shared Link They have a Forum. Some people are finding that methyl sublinguals before bedtime are more effective than taking it in the morning. Some find methyl injections done with insulin needles work well. Twice a week at first, then once a week etc. If you use B12 you must check your Folate...
  14. I trust my chiro MUCH more than the orthos I have seen. The chiro does bone crunching and gives me massage and exercises. My degree of curvature ( triple curve ) has been reduced from 17 degrees at its worst to almost straight. I only see the chiro about twice a year now for a check. And have almost no pain. I have managed my own back for 30 years this...
  15. I am so sorry. For a fancy restaurant with a trained commercial chef this is simply unacceptable. I would be writing letters of complaint to the hotel management, the local newspaper and the chef training association in your state. Chocolate cake time ... and another time take the chocolate cake and eat it ALL - every crumb and do not share it with...
  16. I get giddy days... Check for Reactive HypoGlycemia . You eat and an hour or so later you react by becoming hypoglycemic. gluten-free food is high in carbs. Try increasing protein at every meal and eat every 2 - 3 hours. Check for aldosterone deficiency / adrenal fatigue. Does salt ( eaten/ on food/ as a salt drink ) help ? Check blood pressure...
  17. This is now sounding like HypoPituitary.... Have you had a MRI of your Pituitary ? It will need contrast dye. Is your Dr supplementing the hormone failures ? Open Original Shared Link has a lot of info. You will need Thyroid meds to raise the Free T4 to mid range. Has Dr tested Free T3 ? Once you are dx as HypoPit - the TSH must be ignored...
  18. Were Thyroid Antibodies for Hashimotos disease tested ? If you have Hashimotos then the levels skip around a bit - so may be in a worse shape than you think. Why are you going to see an Endo ? They are usually pretty useless for treating HypoThyroid. Lots of good Thyroid Drs around - but not them... Seek a good Thyroid Dr. Was B12 tested ? Cortisol...
  19. Bi Aglut pasta is the only one we use. It is almost normal pasta. We wouldn't use anything else. In fact everything in their range is awesome. I like the cracker toasts and have them every day. Latest fad is to put butter on them and dark choc bits... Tastes yummy
  20. An enlarged thyroid and elevated Antibodies is not 'normal'. This sounds a lot like autoimmune thyroid disease. Do you have your results to post ? I can only suggest you need to see another Dr that knows more about thyroid disease... Adrenal fatigue is common with thyroid disease and often shows with fluctuating levels of cortisol. High can mean low...
  21. Have B12 and Folate been checked ?
  22. This is from the FVL home page and shows why you need the genetic test for FVL and not just the Protein C ( APC) test. That is why the APC resistance assay, which is a coagulation test, while fairly sensitive, is therefore NOT 100% specific for FVL, since it could be positive due to any perturbation in the activity of APC, of which FVL is the leading...
  23. I have started using my Crock Pot again and love it. This is one I did recently that seemed to work - Fruit Cobbler. I used a bunch of rhubarb and a few apples chopped. Or you could use apples only or peaches. Add 1 cup sugar and water. Cook for a couple of hours on High . Then mix 1 cup gluten-free SR flour, 1/2 teaspoon xanthum gum, 1...
  24. It seems there is a Protein C problem which may need to be checked. Hemo is complicated so best to read up and the ask questions next time. It would appear you have not had the FVL test done. Or APS. High homocysteine is not a good sign. Low levels of B12 / Folate can also cause that. Sometimes the B12 is not 'active' enough to get into your cells. Sometimes...
  25. You need to get these results. There is no term 'mild FVL' or 'mild APS'. You either have it or not. FVL is genetic so you can have one gene for it ( heterozygote) or two ( homozygote) and the risks do get worse with 2 FVL genes .... but to call hetero FVL 'mild' is misleading. Same story with APS although that is an autoimmune disease. Aspirin does not...
