  1. I myself have tried Glutenease thinking maybe it would help me. I read all these people stating that they would take one and be able to eat pizza or their kids could take it and eat pizza. I would never consider doing something like that, especially if it were my child. The pill did help with CC, I have not had any CC problems when I take it BUT, it will NOT help if you eat something knowing it contains gluten, (I tried and got sick). So if you worry about going out to eat or over someone's house and think there may be a chance for CC then try it, you may be pleasantly surprised, but that's about as far as I'd go and not take any chances otherwise, not worth it. Stick to your diet as much as possible and it will keep you feeling good.
  2. I have tried many different pasta's and have not like any of them until I tried Orgrans Rice and Corn pasta. THis is the best, it has a great consistancy and tastes like regular pasta, the rest of my family is not gluten free but they can not taste the difference in the Orgran's pasta. Try it it's great!
  3. I had many problems with seasonal allergies and asthma prior to going gluten free. I've been gluten free for 2 1/2 years now and have not had any problems with my allergies or asthma since then. It is worth a try to get him to go gluten free. So many symptoms seem like they are not related to Celiac but improve after a gluten free diet is kept.
  4. I have been gluten free for 2 years now and have tried a variety of different gluten free foods...many have ended up in the garbage unfortunately but I have found some that I really do like. Orgran makes great pasta, corn and rice pasta, taste the closest to normal pasta....my family doesn't notice the difference. Also Glutino makes breads, corn bread (made from corn flour) is really good, most breads you will find are best when you toast them. I haven't had any luck finding any that taste good prior to toasting. If anyone has hopefully they'll post it. It does help when you stick to the gluten free diet though, you'll notice a world of difference when you get it right. When baking, you can also use the gluten free baking mixes, Pamela's makes a good one, in place of things like Bisquick. I have taken some of the bisquick recipes and have altered them to include the gluten free baking mixes and anything else that may include gluten to gluten free. They come out wonderful. Good luck to you and stick to it.
  5. I use the Glutino brand as well, best bread and bagels I've tried so far. Toast them though, that is a must.
  6. you guys are all very helpful....I just joined this site figuring I'd try it out and it's great. I guess it's more trial and error. It just gets to the point that you start wondering if you're ever going to enjoy eating again.

  8. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 2 1/2 years ago and have done pretty well with my diet since. Now it seems I'm having major problems with dairy. I am going to try to cut out the dairy for a while because I've heard that there may be a link between Celiac and Dairy intollerance. I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem and if the pills for lactaid intollerance work or not.
